Monday, June 25, 2007— To start with the obvious, there’s that rumor circulating around that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are expecting baby #2.   In fact, according to Extra, a number of “sources” report this rumor to be true. A U.K. paper quotes a source as declaring, “Katie and Tom are thrilled about having another baby on the way.” However, we’re still waiting on word on whether or not Katie is actually preggers. Baby Suri, TomKat’s daughter, only just turned a year old in mid-April.

Good news on the couples front. In the wake of the usual break-ups, bitter divorces, and nasty custody battles in Tinsletown, we’ve got some cheerier juice in the love department. First, John Mayer, who recently called it quits with girlfriend Jessica Simpson, and Penelope Cruz, who just split from her hottie hunk Josh Hartnett, appear to be rebounding into the arms of each other. The two were spotted getting cozy after one of Mayer’s recent concerts, according to The New York Daily News.  Witnesses claim Mayer ended up with Cruz’s number. Score!

And is a new romance blossoming for the always-lovely Uma Thurman?  Uma was spotted with a mystery man in London last week.  PEOPLE identified the lucky guy as actor/director/producer David White. A source told the magazine that “they look good together” and are “very, very, very happy.”  Very.

Things are also heating up in the wedding department. First, The O.C.’s matriarch Kelly Rowan, who played the mom of Adam Brody’s character and the wife of Peter Gallagher’s character in the hit series, is now officially engaged to the richest man in Canada and the 10^th richest man in the entire world—David Thomson. So just in case Rowan’s been harboring any financial concerns (The O.C. was cancelled earlier this year), she can now rest easy.  Rowan, 41, and Thomson, 50, have been dating since they met in Canada last year, and are set to wed before 2007 is out.  Don’t sign the pre-nup, Kelly!

Fast approaching are the July 7 nuptials of Desperate hottie Eva Longoria and her younger beau, basketball star Tony Parker. The couple plans to exchange everlasting vows in Paris at the 17^th-century Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte.  Parker says the humungous guest list includes all of Longoria’s Housewives co-stars (including Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Brenda Strong) as well as Catherine Zeta Jones and her old-man hubby Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx, and Lionel Richie. Parker and Longoria plan to honeymoon in Paris, although they really shouldn’t have leaked that information if they want to avoid the paparazzi.

The most recent Hollywood wedding was legendary crooner Rod Stewart’s. PEOPLE reports the 62-year-old tied the knot for the third time last weekend, to the much, much-younger Penny Lancaster, a 36-year-old model. A cynic might call this a cradle-robbing/gold-digging match made in heaven… we’ll just report that the couple tied the knot in front of 100 friends and family members in the small tourist resort of Portofino, situated in Genoa on the Italian Riviera.

Although he’s already into his 60s, Stewart’s got plenty of life left in him, and we’re sure to see him married at least once or twice more (oops – there’s that cynic again!).

Speaking of Rod Stewart - I saw him recently in Denver and even though his dance moves are beginning to show his age his voice was good. His back up singers obviously supported him on the high notes but he put on an overall good show.
