Celebrity Couples News and Rumor RoundupFriday, April 20, 2007—It’s all about romance rumor control this week folks. Some people in the media and paparazzi (or perhaps sometimes a random Joe Schmoe who doesn’t have a life) love to start rumors about the break-ups, make-ups, and hook-ups of their favorite celebrities. Many celebrity romance rumors are based on speculation, some on misunderstandings, some on photos, some on actual—get ready for it—fact (gasp!), and others really seem to come out of thin air. Yuddy’s got some fresh scoop on the latest batch of juicy rumors about the love lives of some of your much-loved celebrities, but while some are definite yays or nays, others are still question marks. Take, for example, the lovely and single-for-now Renee Zellweger (formerly Mrs. Kenny Chesney for a grand total of about four months), who was most recently romantically linked to ex-90210 “teen sensation” Luke Perry, although that alleged romance never really panned out. Zellweger was recently spotted by Extra leisurely strolling together in North Carolina with The Office (Steve Carell’s show) star John Krasinski. What was the pair doing in North Carolina? It’s the home base of their new movie Leatherheads, a romance set in a 1920s-American-football background, slated for release in December of this year. Okay, so is this all we have to go on? For now, yes, seeing as Zellweger’s reps couldn’t be reached for comment. But, if going for a walk with your co-star is enough to set the celebrity romance rumor wheels a-spinnin’, then Zellweger had better not take a strolling break with George Clooney, who also stars in Leatherheads. For that matter, Krasinski and Clooney should also steer clear of each other!
Speaking of the I-won’t-settle-down George Clooney, does one of America’s hottest bachelors (at almost 46, no less!) have a new lady love in his life? Well, apparently, yes! Several media sources have reported he’s actually dating his Ocean’s 13 co-star. No, not Brad Pitt—but more on the Brangelina rumor later—but the sexy 29-year-old lingerie model/actress Jennifer Aguero. Okay, technically the twice-divorced, mother-of-two is more a model than an actress, as Clooney reportedly flew her in just to do a really small part in the movie, but here’s the kicker: the two have kind of been “secretly” dating now for three months! And what did Clooney’s reps have to confess about this? “I have no idea who he dates. I never asked him” (Extra). Moving on in the rumor control department, Harrison Ford did not propose to his longtime and much younger sweetheart, Ally McBeal’s Calista Flockhart, despite big-time rumors to the contrary. This juicy rumor that the Indiana Jones star “finally” popped the big question started swirling around the time he was filming Crossing Over, a movie in which he co-stars with Ray Liotta and Sean Penn. However, reps of both lovebirds recently confirmed the couple is definitely not engaged. Hmm. Maybe Ford feels he is too old for another marriage? In the aftermath of a rumor-proved-false that The Notebook and real-life couple Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were engaged or at least on the way to “I dos” came another rumor that the passionate pair is actually taking a break from their relationship. But are they? According to US Weekly, while the couple is not breaking up (that would just be too sad), they are reportedly “taking a break” and spending less time to focus on other things (like Gosling’s burgeoning film career, perhaps?). Yet McAdams’ reps denied the rumors, calling them “completely false” (US Weekly). Finally, we wrap up this week’s Celebrity Couples’ News and Rumor Round-up with the latest on Brangelina, probably the most-talked-about couple since Pitt’s split with Jennifer Aniston. To keep it short and sweet, another rumor has emerged that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were close to splitting up after agreeing to a “trial” separation (what is that, anyway? “Let’s separate and see how we like it”?), but both their publicists have vehemently denied any reports of this nature.
