Well, it’s official, folks— Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice) can indeed call Eddie Murphy her Baby Daddy. 

Mel's baby girl, two-and-a-half-month-old Angel Iris Murphy Brown, is Eddie's daughter, according to PEOPLE—who heard the news from Brown’s representative, Liza Anderson. 

After Brown threatened to take Murphy to court when he refused to take a DNA paternity test, Murphy caved in on June 11. Results were obtained late last week, confirming that Murphy is Angel’s daddy dearest, although Mel B reportedly had no doubt in her mind that this was true. “It wasn’t a surprise to her,” says a source close to Brown. “She knew all along.” 

The pair “dated” briefly last summer, after which Brown became pregnant. Murphy is now romantically linked to Tracey Edmonds, a film producer. 

So far, no word from Murphy or his rep, which isn’t really shocking, considering that he reportedly refused to see his daughter after her birth on April 3, stating, on public television, “I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test.”  Luckily he didn't have any say in naming his daughter - Angel Iris just sounds so much nicer than "It." 

Well, here’s hoping that Murphy (already a father of five) will embrace his parental duties.
