Hey ODonnell Dont Hassle the Hasselbeck Monday, April 2, 2007 - Ever since Rosie ODonnell joined The View’s roundtable last September, it seems like she’s been making enemies left, right and center. Although many of her feuds have been highly-publicized (Donald Trump, Bill O Reilly) it is the reported behind-the-scenes spats with her fellow hosts that really has tongues wagging. Before ODonnell even made her View debut, people were already wondering how the liberal, outspoken ODonnell would clash with conservative Republican and staunch Bush supporter, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. So it came as a surprise to many when the pair seemed to hit it off on-air – often chiming in with stories of events they had attended together off-set. It seemed that perhaps Barbara Walter’s utopian vision of different women, from all walks of life sharing, caring, and airing their views with respect might have come to fruition... Until, that is, a heated political discussion last month prompted ODonnell to attribute Hasselbeck’s political opinions to being "very young." 31-year-old Hasselbeck openly took offense to the remark, sparking rumors that she had broken out into tears off-stage. Hasselbeck recently set the rumors straight in an interview with People magazine, explaining, "Everyone's always thinking Ro and I don't get along, we're 'enemies,'.... Politically, we're rivals. That is clear. However, we are personally friends. We are on e-mail all day long with each other." The cheeky host also revealed that she’s tougher than she looks, stating, "Under these blonde highlights I consider myself a pretty tough person. So don't cry for me, Argentina." -GM
