Kids: Who’s Having Them… Who Wants Them… and Who Doesn’t Know What To Do with the Ones They Have Friday, March 9, 2007 – Oh how the celebrities are going forth and multiplying these days. It appears the miniature dog has been replaced by the infant as the accessory of choice. Here is Yuddy’s look at the latest developments on the celebrity procreation front. Who’s Having Them
Selma Hayek, 40, of TV’s Ugly Betty, surprised the unsuspecting public with news that she is both pregnant and engaged to a man she has only appeared in public with on a select few occasions. The lucky gent is well-to-do French businessman François-Henri Pinault, 44, CEO of the PPR firm, which owns such businesses that include Gucci, Yves St Laurent, a French department store and a national music chain. In more mild mannered news, Mark Ruffalo, co-star of the new Zodiac movie, has just announced he and wife Sunrise Coigney are currently expecting their third child. Meanwhile, news of NFL quarterback Tom Brady’s ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, 36, expecting his child has taken a strange new turn. His current girlfriend, Victoria’s Secrets supermodel Gisele Bundchen, has been rumored to be expecting his child as well. None of the three stuck in this web of rumors have commented to confirm or deny them, though Gisele’s father and sister claim it just isn’t so.
Recently, prior to the rumors circulating, Bundchen told Italian Vanity Fair, "I'd be lying if I said [I didn't want children] -- my parents have been married for 35 years and have six children. Thing is, I'm just 26 years old, so I have plenty of time." Which leads us to… Who Wants Them
Another on the rumor circle – Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been spotted checking out nursery room decors with a baby boy theme. Meanwhile, Tom has allowed Katie to sign on for a new movie, called Mad Money, which doesn’t call for a pregnant woman. So, maybe they’re not quite ready to give baby Suri a younger brother just yet. Another new parent, Jennifer Garner, 34, told the British edition of Marie Claire magazine, that she and husband Ben Affleck, also 34, would love to have at least one more child, just not right now. Currently they are spending their time spoiling their little girl Violet. And, as reported earlier on Yuddy, Angelina Jolie, 31, has filed paperwork to adopt a boy from Vietnam, who is reported to between 3 and 4 years old. Along with partner Brad Pitt, 43, Jolie is currently raising son Maddox, 5, and daughters Sahara, 2, and Shiloh, 10-months. Pitt had joked last year that they plan on having a family large enough to form a soccer team. It would appear that they are well on their way. Who Doesn’t Know How to Take Care of the Ones They Have It appears that Madonna and Britney Spears have more in common than their pop princess status. Madonna, who has recently caught a windfall of flack for her poorly executed adoption procedure for son David, is now accused of not properly restraining her adopted son in her SUV. Madonna, 48, and husband Guy Ritchie hopped into their SUV with their three children after leaving the Kabbalah Centre in LA, Madonna got in the middle back seat with David, 17-months old, on her lap as they took off. There wasn’t even a car seat in sight. Britney may be a young new mother, but Madge is pushing 50 and this is baby #3, perhaps Kabbalah does not provide all the enlightenment she needs. And since we mentioned Britney – the latest on her two poor children includes a weekend in Vegas with daddy Kevin Federline, as well as his mom, in which the new Father of the Year, made sure to tuck his kids into bed before heading off to his club gig for the night. K-Fed also brought the kids by to see Britney at the Promises rehab center this week for a visit that lasted 4 hours.
