Former boy-bander Nick Lachey has been a paparazzi target ever since divorcing Jessica Simpson but it is his relationship with MTV host Vanessa Minnillo that brings him the most heat. The pair spoke out to OK Magazine! about recent nude pictures of the pair and those infamous Lindsay Lohan – Minnillo knife-wielding party-pics. Lachey claims that the naked pics snapped of the couple sexing each other up in a Mexican hot tub were no big deal and none of anyone’s business: “Where’s the scandal? I was in Mexico with my girlfriend of a year, celebrating our anniversary on a private vacation. It’s not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. We’ve all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We’ve all made mistakes.” Minnillo agreed they were embarrassing but claimed “they were no big deal”. With Minnillo’s smoking body, she probably didn’t mind becoming gossip rag fodder for a couple of weeks. The drunken knife photos, however, are another story.
Vanessa says, “When a photo like that gets more press than what you do, it’s sad. It was a period of seconds, over a year ago. Yes, of course, it was bad judgment. Yes, of course I was embarrassed. I haven’t seen [Lindsay] recently or talked to her. She’s trying to get herself better.” The stunt cost Minnillo big time. She was in development to star in her own reality show, but after the pics went public the producers dropped her from the project. Reportedly the racy pics were taken at 4:50 a.m. in a home in New York’s Greenwich Village after a night of partying at NYC club Bungalow 8. Minnillo, fresh off hosting Miss Universe in Mexico, is shown in one of the photos pulling down Lohan's tank top. Another pic shows her with face upturned, eyes closed and lips parted, as if about to kiss the child star; who is now 21 and fresh out of rehab (after fleeing the scene of her drunken, high car accident). Minnillo, 26 and Lachey, 33 meanwhile have been contemplating a jaunt down the aisle. Lachey says, “The ‘m’ word has been mischief lately. We’re enjoying each other’s company and we’re very happy, but we’re not looking too far ahead. The future will be what it will be. We’ll see where it goes.”
