TV Celebrity Spring Baby Fever
Tuesday, December 12, 2006—Jaime Pressly is the newest pregnant addition to the group of expectant TV celebrities all due in the spring of 2007.
The Emmy-nominated actress, famous for her sleazy, trash-talking, dumb blonde-type role as Joy on the hit comedy My Name is Earl, announced in mid-November on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that she was four months pregnant.
She and fiancé deejay Eric Cubiche are expecting their first child, a boy—whom they’ve reportedly already named Dezi James in honor of I Love Lucy’s Desi Arnaz and Pressly’s father—in April or May.
Other notable TV actresses also expecting at around the same time include Studio 60’s Amanda Peet, who’s expecting a girl in March with new screenwriter hubby David Benioff; Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives, who will welcome twins in April with her husband Tom Mahoney; and Tori Spelling (from 90210) and Dean McDermott, who are also expecting in April.
Interestingly, not only are Pressly, Peet, Cross, and Spelling all due in spring, but these are also the first pregnancies for all four.
Pressly, 29, had earlier denied rumors of a pregnancy. However, she told Leno that My Name is Earl leading man Jason Lee (who plays Earl Hickey) knew about the pregnancy and accidentally let it slip at a red carpet event.
Pressly isn’t the only My Name is Earl star who’s expecting a new bundle of joy. Ethan Suplee, who plays Earl’s dim-witted brother Randy, recently announced that he and his wife Brandy Lewis, actress Juliette Lewis’ sister, are expecting their second daughter together (four in total, counting Lewis’ children from another marriage), also with a spring due date in April.
