Adam Brody Adam Jared Brody entered the hearts of teenage girls everywhere when he was cast as Seth Cohen on the hit television series The O.C. Brody was born on December 15, 1979, in San Diego, California. He was the first child of Mark and Valerie who would later give him twin brothers, Sean and Matt. He grew up as a secular Jew and graduated from Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego. He was like any other California teenager and enjoyed hanging out with his friends and surfing.
After high school, he briefly attended Mira Costa College in Oceanside, California. He convinced his parents to let him go to school in Los Angeles in 1999, but instead of attending classes, Brody hired an acting coach and signed with a talent manager. He spent the next year of his life going through the training and auditioning process. His hard work paid off when he landed the role of Barry Williams in the TV movie Growing up Brady. This led to miscellaneous guest appearances on shows like The Gilmore Girls and Sausage Factory. In 2003, Brody’s landed his breakthrough role on The O.C. alongside fellow cast members, Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan, Rachel Bilson, and Benjamin McKenzie. His role on the show earned him recognition, awards, and a new girlfriend. He is currently dating co-star Rachel Bilson.
Since The O.C., Brody has earned roles on several films such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; and Thank You for Smoking in 2006, starring Aaron Eckhart, Katie Holmes, and Rob Lowe. He has recently completed filming In the Land of Women alongside Meg Ryan and is also scheduled to star in Smiley Face and The Ten in 2007. He is also branching out and will be producing his first film next year, which will be a remake of 1984’s Revenge of the Nerds. Brody has received as much attention for his good looks as he has for his acting skills. He has been named one of Teen People’s Hottest 25 Under 25 and ranked #9 on Elle Girl’s 50 Hottest Guys list. In both 2003 and 2004 he was named one of the 50 Hottest Bachelors and was even voted as the #1 sex symbol by CosmoGIRL. Brody currently lives in Los Angeles with his two dogs, Penny Lane and Thurmen Murmen, and his roommate, Bret Harrison. In his spare time, Brody plays the drums for the band Big Japan. He also volunteers with the Young Storytellers Program, an organization that works to develop literacy, self-expression, and self-esteem among elementary school kids. YUDDY |
