Until late 2002 she lead a fairly private, ordinary life before meeting Scott Peterson and becoming entangled in his web of lies and deceit which lead to him being charged with the murder of his wife, Laci and their unborn baby, Connor.

Amber Frey was born on February 10^th 1975 in Los Angeles, California to Ron and Brenda Frey. When Amber was just five years old her parents divorced and Amber continued to live with her mother.After graduating from Clovis High School in 1983 Amber went on to study child development and gained an AA at Fresno City College. She then turned her attention to becoming a massage therapist and trained at Golden State College in Fresno and accomplished a 540 hours vocational period.

Frey’s life was fairly uneventful. For a while she worked at a daycare center in Fresno, California before becoming a massage therapist. At this time she went on to have her baby daughter Ayainna in 2001, with the man she said was the father, Anthony Flores. It has since been revealed through D.N.A. tests that he was not the father of the baby and had been wrongly paying child support to Amber for several years.

It was in late 2002 after Scott Peterson had told Shawn, a friend of Frey’s that he was in fact single and would like to meet someone to have a meaningful relationship with. Amber took Scott’s telephone number to call him and they made a date to meet on November 20^th 2002. Amber instantly became embroiled in a deep relationship, falling for Scott’s charming ways after he fed her champagne and strawberries in his hotel room. Amber soon took Scott home to meet her daughter whom he vowed he would help to raise if their relationship continued and from there on things moved very fast.

Scott allegedly told Amber that he was a widow  and spun her a sad story of how he lost his wife but over the period of the Christmas holidays in 2002 it became increasingly obvious that he was in fact the husband of the missing pregnant woman, Laci Peterson. Laci Peterson was reported missing by Scott Peterson at 6pm on December 24th 2002, after he returned home from a fishing trip at the Berkeley Marina, California.

After Scott was arrested for the murder of his wife Laci, Amber hired celebrity lawyer Gloria Alred to help her handle the press’s interest and release statements that would restrict any damage being caused to Amber’s character prior to her giving evidence. Rumours relating to Frey were rife at this time including nude photographs of her that had been taken in 1999 at the Clovis modeling agency had been and put onto a web site. They were were about to be made public by David Hans Schmidt until she filed a law suit against him restricting him from making them public.

Following the trial of Scott, at which Amber was the key witness, and which saw him being found guilty and given the death sentence, Amber did the rounds appearing on chat shows with Jay Leno, Larry King and Oprah Winfrey in an effort to promote her book. ‘"Witness For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson."

During the months of the trial Amber rekindled a friendship with an old flame, Dr. David Markovich with whom she had a baby son, Justin Dean, in 2004 but the relationship was not to last and Amber moved on to date and marry corrections officer Bobby Hernandez.
