Andrea Anders was born on May 10, 1975, in Madison, Wisconsin. She graduated high school from DeForest Area High School in DeForest, Wisconsin in 1993. After graduating, Anders went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in 1997. Anders went on to complete her Master of Fine Arts degree from Rutgers University.

After graduating, Andrea decided to pursue a career in acting and moved to New York City at the age of twenty-two. She made a few appearances on Broadway, starring in Proof and The Graduate. She also auditioned for soap operas.

In 2003, Andrea and her boyfriend decided to move to Los Angeles together to further Andrea’s career in TV and films. Initially, she landed a couple of roles on some unsuccessful pilots. She also began making a few guest appearances on successful shows like Law & Order and Oz.

Anders made four appearances on Oz playing the character Donna Degenhart. She made one appearance on Law & Order, playing the character Emily Hoyt. She also made one appearance on the show, Tru Calling. The show premiered in 2003 and stars Eliza Dushku, Zack Galifianakis, and Jason Priestly.

Her first role in a movie was as the character Heather in the 2004 science fiction film, The Stepford Wives. The films starred Nicole Kidman
, Matthew Broderick, Glenn Close, Bette Midler, and Christopher Walken.

In 2004, Anders landed the recurring role of Alex Garrett in the Friends spin off, Joey, starring Matt LeBlanc. In the show, Andrea’s character, Alex, was the neighbor of Matt LeBlanc’s character, Joey. The show was picked up for a second season in March of 2006 but was abruptly cancelled in May of 2006 after ratings plummeted.

There have also been rumors, reported by Entertainment Tonight and People Magazine, that Anders and LeBlanc are dating each other now that LeBlanc filed for divorce from his wife and model, Melissa McKnight in March of 2006.

Following Joey, Anders quickly landed a starring role in a new CBS sitcom called The Class. The show premiered in the fall of 2006. She will play the character, Nicolle Allen. Some of her co-stars include Jason Ritter, Sean Maguire, and Lizzy Caplan. The show was created by David Crane, who was also responsible for creating Friends.
