Angie Everhart Biography American model and sometimes actress Angie Everhart never managed to make it big in the acting world, and her most notable works are limited to movies such as Last Action Hero and Denial. She continues to make headlines, however, for her tumultuous and somewhat eccentric personal life, particularly her romantic engagements.
Angela Kay Everhart was born September 7, 1969 in Akron, Ohio. Her parents were Ginnie Everhart and Robert Everhart, a homemaker and engineer respectively. She was one of six children. Entering the rigorous and competitive world of modeling when she was only fifteen, Everhart balanced her career and her schooling at Firestone High School. Maintaining a normal life despite her burgeoning career, Everhart was both a cheerleader and mascot for the school. Proving a natural at modeling, Everhart’s career took off right away. Within a short span of time, she was on the covers of prestigious fashion magazines from Glamour to ELLE. She achieved this success despite being repeatedly told she could never make it as a top model due to her red hair. Everhart persevered, and she is now particularly noted for her repeated appearances in Sports Illustrated.
And it was this “can do” attitude which proved crucial when she was nineteen. Involved in a nearly tragic car accident, Everhart broke her back but avoided paralysis. She then fought on a long, difficult road to recovery. After a lot of hard work and tenacity, Everhart returned to the career she loved so well. Diversifying her interests, Everhart made her onscreen debut in 1993 with Last Action Hero opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Art Carney. In 1995, she made the unfortunate decision to associate herself with the widely panned David Caruso and Linda Fiornetino vehicle Jade, after which she again demonstrated bad judgment by appearing in Bordello of Blood. Everhart found herself among a strong cast when she took a role in 1998’s Denial with Jonathan Silverman, Patrick Dempsey, Christine Taylor, and Amy Yasbeck, but her film career still stalled. Some may recognize Everhart for her small but recurring role on UC: Undercover with Oded Fehr, Jon Seda, William Forsythe, and other cast regulars, but the rest of her acting career was mediocre at best. Her latest project was The Unknown Trilogy, which proved a fitting title as it made little to no impact with the viewers. As of 2006, Everhart increased her visibility when she took a lead in the new reality series Ex Wives Club. She shared the spotlight with Shar Jackson and Marla Maples. Not proving popular with critics or audiences, the show was entirely panned and written off as another in a long chain of reality series busts.
Everhart also made news in February of 2000 when she posed for Playboy magazine. Although many have done the same thing, Everhart was a surprise to the public because she had been so adamant about her refusal to pose nude. In her personal life, she has been married one time to Ashley Hamilton. The marriage only lasted from late 1996 to March 1997. She has also been romantically linked to Jimmy Traboulis, Prince Albert II, Sylvester Stallone, Howard Stern (before his engagement to Beth Ostrosky), and Prince Andrew Duke. As of July 30, 2007, she has publicly announced her engagement to actor Joe Pesci. |
