Aracely Arambula Aracely Arambula, whose full legal name is Aracely Arambula Jaquez, is an actress and singer who was born on March 6, 1975, in Chihuahua, Mexico. Aracely had of love of acting since childhood, which caused her to act and sing any chance she could get. During her childhood she won many school beauty pageants, which gave her the courage to pursue greater acting and singing careers. She was catapulted into the public eye in 1992 when she won the well-known Mexican beauty contest, El Rostro del Heraldo. Shortly after this win she moved from Chihuahua to Mexico City where she enrolled in Centro de Educación Artística (CEA), the most prestigious acting school in all of Latin America.
After finishing her acting training, Aracely immediately began acting in small roles in telenovas (which are similar to North American soap operas) for the biggest media company in the Spanish-speaking world, Televisa. Her first telenova was the 1994 Prisionera de Amor (Prisoner of Love). Over the next four years, Aracely continued to accept more minor roles for telenovela characters. Her hard work and persistence paid off because in 1998 she received her first major role in the telenova, Soñadoras (Dreamers). In 1999 she played the starring role of María Elena Hernández in Alma Rebelde (Rebel Soul). Then in 2000 she played the main heroine, María Del Carmen Campusanos, in Abrázame Muy Fuerte (Embrace Me Tightly). In her last job as a telenovela star in 2002, Aracely played the main heroine Perla in Las Vias del Amor (The Ways of Love). Once Aracely quit the soap opera acting scene, she decided to focus her attention on developing her talent as a singer. The process of becoming a professional singer was not easy for her, even though she debuted in the Latin music field fairly quickly with a song called "Blah Blah Blah," featured in the soundtrack of the telenovela, Abrázame Muy Fuerte. Her first full-length record, Solo Tuya, signed with Disca Latin Music, did reasonably well within Mexico. The album featured the hit single, "Te Quiero Igual o Mas Que Ayer." However, north of the border, Aracely was often severely criticized for what many considered her lack of singing abilities.
In July of 2005 Aracely appeared in a series of television commercials promoting Hanes underwear on Spanish language television. The campaign ended in May of 2006. Aracely also appeared on the January 2006 cover of the popular Spanish men’s magazine, H para Hombres. The issue was one of the most sold out issues in the magazine’s history. Romantically, Aracely has been most recently linked to fellow Mexican singer, Luis Miguel. The two became engaged in 2006 and Aracely is expecting the couple’s first child. No photos of the pregnancy have been made public, and there have been rumors that the Spanish version of People is negotiating to pay as much as $3 million USD for photos of Aracely’s pregnancy. People denies this. YUDDY |
