Ashley Massaro was born on May 26th 1979 in Long Island, New York and grew up with a father and brother who both competed on the amateur wrestling scene. After completing her education at the State University of New York and graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Ashley’s first venture into the world of show business was as a model and a beauty contestant which saw her being crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA in 2002 and Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada 2005. As a model Ashley gained the attention of the Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner who recruited her to appear in Playboy Magazine under the name of Ryan McKenzie
Along with Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Chyna and Trish Stratus, Ashley began a career in wrestling, following in her father’s and brother’s footsteps. Signing with Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment in 2005 with whom she won a one years contract and $250,000 as a reward for winning the Monday Night RAW search for a Diva.
