Ashley Tisdale was born on July 2^nd 1985 in Deal, New Jersey to Mike and Lisa Tisdale, who’s older daughter Jennifer, is also an actress. Along with many other famous actresses, actors and musicians born in New Jersey, including John Travolta, Brooke Shields and Bruce Springsteen, Ashley looks set to reach the same dizzy heights of stardom. 

When Ashley was just three years old she began acting at a local stage school and appeared in several shows including “The Sound of Music” which originally starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer and in ‘Gypsy: A Musical Fable’ which starred Natalie Wood in the 1962 film version of the musical. 

When Ashley was just twelve years old she sang for Bill Clinton at the White House. As a teenager Ashley moved to Valencia, California with her family where she attended Valencia High School. Her talents were spotted even as far back as high school when she was named the most likely student to become an actress in the future.

While she was at high school Ashley was never without something to do, either at acting school, practicing her vocal capabilities or holding down one of her many part time jobs at Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister or Aeropostle at her local mall. 

All her hard work paid off, when in the late 1990’s Ashley was offered roles in several television series including, ‘Beverley Hills 90210’ with Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty, ‘Boston Public’ with Jeri Ryan and ‘Charmed’ with Alyssa Milano and Julian McMahon, “7^th Heaven’, ‘Grounded for Life’ and ‘Strong Medicine’. 

Along with the more popular series on television, Ashley also appeared in TV commercials such as Fruit Gushers and she also accepted smaller roles in film and TV such as “Donnie Darko’ in 2001 and as Maddie Fitzpatrick in “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Her appearances in TV commercials continued with her role in the Staples Inc. promotional campaign for “Geared 4 School” sweepstakes in 2007. 

In an effort to experience every discipline in her chosen field of acting Ashley also tried her hand at comedy when she accepted roles in ‘The Hughleys’ and ‘Still Standing’. The Disney Channel was to play a big part in promoting Ashley’s talents when she was cast in the television film “High School Musical’ in 2006 and her voice was also used for a character in “Whisper of the Heart’.

For Disney she also recorded her versions of two tracks from the movie Cinderella, “Some day my Prince will Come” and “Kiss the Girl’.In addition, she recorded a version of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" with the other members of the Disney Channel Circle of Stars. After her appearance in “High School Musical” she had three hits on the Billboard Hot 100 with songs she had performed in the musical, ‘What I've Been Looking For,’ ‘Bop to the Top,’ and ‘We're All in This Together’ and in doing this Ashley made history by being the first female artist to ever debut with two songs at the same time on Billboard Hot 100. 

She also appeared in an episode of MYV’s ‘Punk’d’ where she helped Ashton Kutcher to punk her good friend and High School Musical co-star Zac Efron. 

Ashley’s first solo album, titled, ‘Headstrong’ was released in February 2007 and made it to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The accolades just kept coming for the talented young star when in January 2007 she was declared the 2nd Hottest Woman of Pop/R&B by Blender Magazine when in an interview with the magazine she stated that she is drug and alcohol free because her mother instilled confidence into her as a child that stopped her bowing to peer pressure.
