Barbara Feltus Biography

German born actress and model Barbara Feltus made a name for herself through her professional endeavors, but it was really her high profile marriage that put her on the map. And when that high profile marriage became a high profile divorce, her star status skyrocketed even further.

Barbara Feltus, sometimes known as Barbara Becker, was born November 1, 1966 in Munich, West Germany.

Her parents were Harlan Feltus and Ursula Feltus, a photographer and German teacher respectively. She is of African American descent on her father’s side.

Although Feltus had a successful career as a model, she also gained considerable exposure through her acting.

To that end, she made her onscreen debut in 1989 with an uncredited role in Wie du Mir… The television program also featured Bernie Hiller and Laurent Daniels.

The following year, she appeared in the sci-fi spoof Star Mac. She landed the role of Uhura along with fellow actors Rochus Hahn, Gert Gunther Hoffmann, and others.

After a one-episode turn in Happy Holiday in 1993, Feltus left acting for a sizable hiatus.

It wasn’t until 2007 that she returned. In that year, she played Frau Yoga in Beweg’ Dich, Reg’ Dich. Other stars included Niklas Andreasen, Bruno Kagerer, and Samira Krodel.

Feltus also made several appearances on television programs as herself. Examples include a 2006 showing in Papa Und Mama as well as several episodes of Wetten, Dass…? between 2002 and 2007.

Feltus lent her image to several notable commercial campaigns as well. With the presence of her husband, they participated in an AOL commercial that ran throughout Germany. The distinctive tagline of “I’m in” subsequently became a popular catchphrase.

Once again finding success through her personal relationships, Feltus is noted for her longtime friendship with rocker Lenny Kravitz.

In her personal life, she married Boris Becker on December 17, 1993. They had two children before divorcing on January 15, 2001.

Their children are Noah Gabriel Becker and Elias Balthasar Becker. Noah was born in January of 1994 (one month after the couple married), while Elias was born in mid-1999.

The divorce was preceded by another woman alleging that she was pregnant with Becker’s child. Shortly after, Feltus took the children to Miami, Florida, wherein she instigated a long and much publicized divorce.

The proceedings were even broadcast in Germany, ultimately resulting in a January 2001 divorce. Feltus was reported to receive a Florida condo, custody of the two children, and just shy of $15 million in the settlement.

Feltus has subsequently been linked to Arne Quinze and Lapo Elkann.
