Bridget Moynahan
Having already established herself as a popular film star, appearing in films with Colin Farrell, Will Smith, and Ben Affleck, Bridget Moynahan recently took a chance to star in a television series again, just because she liked the project overall. For someone who believes in both fate and chance, it seems no matter which she is presented with, it always works out for her. Born Kathryn Bridget Moynahan in Binghamton, New York, on September 21, 1970, she is called "Kat" by those who are closest to her. Her father, a scientist, works as an administrator at the University of Massachusetts , and her mother is a former school teacher. During her school years, Moynahan was heavily involved in sports such as field hockey and basketball, but lacrosse was her favorite game. She has said she once attacked an opposing team member with her lacrosse net. She no longer plays sports, only watching them from the sidelines. She is especially interested in football, as she dated Tom Brady, the quarterback of the New England Patriots for three years, a relationship that ended in late 2006. Moynahan started off her career as a model, appearing on the covers of Elle, Vogue, and Glamour, although she worked her way through high school waiting tables at Abdow’s Big Boy. While still modeling, she took acting classes at Caymichael Patten Studio in New York . The classes apparently paid off, as it wasn’t long before she had small roles in the movies Row Your Boat, In the Weeds, Whipped, and Trifling with Fate.
After having just those few small parts previously, Moynahan hit it big, co-starring in the hit movie, Coyote Ugly, with fellow model Tyra Banks, along with Piper Perabo, Adam Garcia, and Maria Bello. At the same time Moynahan was filming the movie, she was also filming the television series, Sex and the City. She was originally hired to be on only a few episodes as Natasha, the wife of Big, but she proved such a hit, she stayed the entire season, starring with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. After her season on Sex and the City, Moynahan went back to small roles in movies, appearing with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale in Serendipity. This led to her biggest role yet, playing the female lead to Al Pacino and Colin Farrell in The Recruit. Moynahan’s character falls in love with Farrell, a fellow recruit. She played the female lead again, this time against Will Smith, in I, Robot. In the movie she plays a psychologist that helps Smith investigate a murder set in the year 2035. In a role close to home, she plays a model in Lord of War, and stars with Nicholas Cage. Despite all this success with film roles, Moynahan made the choice to go back to a television series, because she liked the sound of the project. She has said she thought Six Degrees was so good, she couldn’t find a reason not to do the series. The show examines the theory that there is a maximum of six different connections that connect any two people, and follows six people who are all connected, but don’t know it. It also stars Hope Davis, Jay Hernandez, and Erika Christensen.
In February of 2007, it was announced that Moynahan was pregnant with ex-boyfriend Tom Brady's baby. YUDDY |
