Brooke Burke Brooke Burke is an American television personality and model best known for moving up from her model position as the girl from the Bally's Total Fitness ads to the tour guide on E!’s popular travel series, Wild On! She is the fourth of seven children born to parents Donna and George Burke. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Burke spent most of her childhood in Tucson, Arizona, where its been said that she developed her love of the desert. She was born on September 8, 1971. During her childhood, Burke had dreams of becoming a drummer in a rock and roll band. Instead, she went to UCLA where she studied broadcast journalism. But before she started university, Burke made her break into the entertainment scene. It happened when she decided to go with a friend to a modeling agency where she was immediately noticed by the talent scouts. A few modeling jobs later, she won an acting scholarship that helped pay for her university education. While in university, Burke continued to model. She modeled lingerie for the Frederick's of Hollywood catalogs and posed naked for the Website Bluenudes.com. She eventually signed contracts with the big modeling agencies like Ford, Wilhelmina, and Cunningham Escott Dipene. Burke soon landed roles in several television commercials for Discover Card, Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, and M Professional Cosmetics. She was also the woman with the beautiful body in the Bally Total Fitness commercials.
In 1999 a swimwear company that Burke worked for recommended her to E! Entertainment Television as a replacement for Jules Asner on the show Wild On! After a successful meeting and interview, Burke was given the chance to host a trial show in Spain. The producers liked her work and signed her on for three years. After her contract finished Burke appeared in the May 2001 and November 2004 issues of Playboy magazine, and also in Maxim and FHM. She hosted another E! show called Rank, which she left in 2003. She then decided to start her own women's swimwear line called Barely Brooke. Burke has made guest star appearances on The Weakest Link, That's Life, Monk, and Less than Perfect. In 2004 she appeared in three movies: The Hazing, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and Knuckle Sandwich. The same year she lent her voice to the People and Places category of Atari's Trivial Pursuit video game. In 2004 she also voiced Rachel in the video game Need for Speed: Underground 2. In July of 2005 she landed her host role on the CBS show Rock Star, the same month she separated from her husband of five years, Dr. Garth Fisher. The couple has two daughters together. On August 21, 2006 Burke became engaged to French-born actor David Charvet, and the two are expecting a child together. YUDDY |
