Besides spending his time as one of the two leading hot half-brothers on the hit CW teen drama One Tree Hill, Chad Michael Murray has spent considerable time as an actor and fashion model, and has been keeping his fans at bay.

The hunky twenty-five-year-old was born in Buffalo, New York, on August 24, 1981. A self-described loner in high school, Murray busied himself with playing football as a teenager—as both a punter and kicker—but then, upon his South Fork High School graduation (in Clarence, New York), he decided to forgo football in favor of a modeling career. Murray had actually won a scholarship while attending high school for a Buffalo, New York modeling agency to attend an Orlando, Florida modeling convention.

At the convention, Murray was officially discovered by an L.A. manager, Jon Simmons, who helped the young then seventeen-year-old potential to pursue acting.

He moved to Hollywood as a high school graduate and supported himself at first through modeling for big-name clients like Gucci, Sketchers, and Tommy Hilfiger, and later broke into acting in a guest-star role on the hit TV show from the 1990s, Diagnosis: Murder, starring Dick Van Dyke.

He took a few small roles and guest roles on some lesser known films and TV programs, including Anthony E Zuiker’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, before gaining international recognition and praise on the now-dead TV network, the WB.

While on the WB, Murray landed a notable and recurring role on the hit teen drama, Dawson’s Creek, starring Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams. He also played Rory’s smooth classmate Tristan at Chilton Prep School on the critically acclaimed Gilmore Girls, starring Alexis Bledel as Rory and Lauren Graham as her witty and snarky young mother Lorelai.

On the big screen, Murray made his debut as Jake in Disney’s Freaky Friday in 2003, starring alongside Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Mark Harmon. Two years later he starred opposite Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story, and then completely switched gears to take the lead in the horror flick House of Wax, co-starring Elisha Cuthbert, Paris Hilton, and Jared Padalecki.

In 2003, Murray was cast as one of the leads in the intense and super popular teen drama One Tree Hill as high-school student Lucas Scott, half-brother to Nathan Scott, played by James Lafferty. Female regulars are Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Galeotti.

Murray is currently engaged to One Tree Hill extra Kenzie Dalton, after being briefly married to One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush, who reportedly filed for annulment for fraud.
