Corinna Harney Corinna Harney, who is of Irish and Cherokee decent, was actually born in Germany. Although she has a number of acting credits, it is her appearances in the men’s magazine Playboy, founded by Hugh Hefner, for which she is best known. Corinna Harney was born on February 20, 1972, in Bremerhaven, Germany. The family grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, where her father was a state trooper. The ways of Sin City soon rubbed off on Corinna, and in August of 1991, at the age of nineteen, Corinna had the dubious honor of being named Playmate of the Month.
Only one year later, she was named Playmate of the Year, joining the ranks of models Jenny McCarthy, Kimberly Conrad, and Brande Roderick. She was succeeded as Playmate of the Year by the recently-deceased Anna Nicole Smith. Her title as the magazine’s top model of the year allowed her to appear in a number of special editions for the publication, including Playboy’s Book of Lingerie, Playboy’s Girls of Summer, and Playboy’s Supermodels. In 2006, she was featured in the Playboy Playmate of the Year DVD Collection: The 90s, which also included other recognized playmates of the decade. Throughout the years, Corinna has also appeared in several television series and films. Unfortunately for Harney, most of the movies in which she appeared were box office bombs, and so did little to advance her acting career. There were, however, a few exceptions. She had a small part playing a waitress in a 1991 episode of the police drama Nash Bridges, starring Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, as well as an appearance on the popular crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, starring William Peterson and Jorja Fox.
Her film appearances include a small part in Vegas Vacation, starring funny guy Chevy Chase, along with Beverly D’Angelo and Academy Award nominee Randy Quaid. The 2001 comedy Rat Race also included Corinna Harney among its cast of big name actors like John Cleese, Cuba Gooding Jr., Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Meyers, Amy Smart, and Seth Green. In 2003, Corinna finally won a substantial role in the film The Road Home. Directed by Drew Johnson, who also co-starred in the film with Harney, and featuring semi big-name actors like Paul Kent and Marisol Nichols, the film did not exactly fall into the category of box office hit. However, many viewers enjoyed the film, and it picked up two awards at the New York Independent Film Festival including Best Cinematography and Best Feature Film in the Genre of Romance. Hopefully, more starring roles will follow for the actress. If the petite model and actress has a man in her life, she isn’t giving anything up. Perhaps if the paparazzi attention surrounding Corinna grows in the future, the public will know a little more about Harney’s now private life. YUDDY |
