Cris was born as Cristan Lee Judd in 1969, in Texas. His early years were spent on various air force bases throughout the Philippines and Hawaii. His mother was originally from the Philippines.
By the time he entered high school, the family had settled down in Florida. At this time Cris enjoyed athletics, particularly surfing and golf. After high school he even considered becoming a professional golfer. Instead, Judd opted to go to college. While in college he got his first job at Disney World working alongside his friend, and future comedian, Wayne Brady.
By the time Judd reached the age of twenty-one there was quite a buzz going around the Florida club scene about his natural dancing ability that had been showcased in a couple of contests. That same year Cris decided to pursue a career as a dancer and again got his first dancing gig through Disney.
Through word-of-mouth alone, Cris quickly began to get recognized on the national level. It was by these recommendations that Cris was chosen to dance onstage with Michael Jackson at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards. After that he began touring with Jackson on several tours, a gig that led to many others with major music acts. It also opened the doors for Judd to establish a successful career choreographing music videos. Other acts he has worked with include Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias, and Jordan Knight.
Judd met Jennifer Lopez when he was flown to Spain to direct her music video "Love Don’t Cost a Thing." The couple married in September of 2001, but the marriage was quickly dissolved by 2002, when Lopez began pursuing a relationship with Ben Affleck. During that time, Chris wrote and recorded his first song, "Alive," which made it onto the soundtrack for Enough, a film that starred Jennifer Lopez.
Recently Judd has also decided to pursue an acting career, finding a place in two films during 2006. Judd has also made guest appearances on the television shows Eve, Half and Half, and Everybody Loves Raymond. He is also choreographing a musical held at the Luxor resort in Las Vegas. Chris also made his television debut on the show I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here. That same year People magazine voted him one of the 25 Hottest Bachelors.
