DannieLyn Birkhead Probably more famous in the first few months of her little life than even the Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise production or Angelina Jolie’s or Madonna’s latest additions. That’s the way the death of her mother Anna Nicole Smith had left this tiny bundle, Dannielyn Hope Marshall (and on her birth certificate Stern) and now Birkhead. A baby with such a huge price tag was bound to garner much attention and speculation as to who the father was. If King Solomon had been around he probably would have known just how to find out who the real father was without all the legal process.
Even before she was welcomed into the world on September 7th 2006 she was the talk of the town, State and even the Bahamas. During her pregnancy Anna Nicole spent much time in the Bahamas with her oldest child Daniel, whom she had given birth to two decades previously in 1986, and with Howard K Stern, her lawyer and long time friend. Even while in the Bahamas Anna’s life was under constant scrutiny with varies accusations about the “ownership” of the mansion she and the family were occupying. While in hospital after the birth of DannieLyn, infact just three days later, her son Daniel was to die of a drug related incident. After his death Anna named the new baby girl Dannielyn in memory of her deceased son, Daniel. As if that wasn’t enough grief for Anna Nicole at a time when she should have been elated at the birth of her new daughter, a court battle was to begin over the fatherhood of the new baby. At that time only Howard K Stern and Larry Birkhead were contenders for the title. Then on the 8th February 2007 while in a hotel in Florida, Anna Nicole, too, was to meet her demise. Once again, as with her son Daniel, drugs were to blame.
Unfortunately this left the baby with no mother, no brother an estranged grandmother and at that point two men battling over custody. Then, as suddenly as Anna’s death, a slew of men came wiggling out of the woodwork claiming to be the baby’s father. In the three ring circus that was to surround the “contest” there was the husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, Frederic von Anhalt, one of Anna’s bodyguards, Howard K Stern and of course Larry Birkhead. There was also a sideshow developing in which the grandmother of Dannielyn, Vergie Arthur, was vying for custody. During the time of the court case and the tooing and throwing of evidence and accusations, Dannielyn remained in the care of her nanny, a minister's mother, in a house outside Nassau, The Bahamas. Finally on April 12th 2007 after DNA tests from Howard K Stern and Larry Birkhead were analysed the father was found to undoubtedly be, Larry Birkhead. Very soon after the results Larry was to take the motherless Dannielyn home with him while the world watch, cheered and shared in his happiness. Finally, without the wisdom of King Solomon, Dannielyn will now remain safely with the one person who truly loves her for being “his” baby daughter and not for the fame and fortune that will likely follow her all her life. It was Dannielyn's first television appearence, June 12th 2007, she and her daddy, Larry appeared together on the Larry King show when Birkhead was asked several unanswered questions relating to his, Sterns and Vergie's relationship to Anna Nicole. Following in her mother's footsteps and showing her love of the camera, baby Dannielyn took over the show with her big blue eyes and baby giggles ABB |
