As a high school student, Charvet opted for the theater scene over the party scene, appearing in various school stage productions and studying drama. After graduation, Charvet was discovered by a photographer, and subsequently began a career in modeling. Working with the renowned Elite Model agency, Charvet landed national ad campaigns with such brands as Bugle Boy clothing, Levi’s Jeans, and Coca-Cola.
Charvet got his big break in acting at age twenty, when he was cast as Matt Brody on beach babe series, Baywatch. Along with co-stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, whom Charvet dated, the cast was watched weekly by an audience of up to one billion viewers in over 140 countries.
Charvet remained with Baywatch for three seasons, eventually leaving to star as Craig Field on Melrose Place from 1996 to 1998. After Melrose Place, Charvet retired from acting to focus on a career in music.
Charvet has collaborated with such songwriters as Ty Lacy, who previously wrote for LeAnn Rimes; and Steve Power, who produced for Robbie Williams. Charvet has also recorded a duet with Canadian pop singer, Bryan Adams, and currently has plans in the works to duet with Seal.
Charvet released his self-titled debut album in 1997, followed by Leap of Faith in 2002, and Se laisser quelque chose in 2004. His next album is expected to be released in 2007.
On the big-screen, Charvet has starred in the independent feature Meet Prince Charming in 1999. He also has a starring role in upcoming feature film, Reality Show, which will be produced in France.
When he’s not touring throughout Europe to promote his albums, Charvet enjoys sports and race car driving. He also claims to have abstained from alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes, and has visited schools to spread the message about the dangers of addictive substances. Charvet has also lent his support to such causes as the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Planet Hope.
In August 2006, Charvet got engaged to Rock Star INXS host, Brooke Burke. The couple are currently expecting their first child.
