Denis LearyDenis Colin Leary is an Emmy-nominated American actor and comedian known for his angry, foul-mouthed comedic style, most often based on topics such as smoking, drinking, macho men, and beautiful women. Fitting his character to his routines, he usually smokes and drinks beer during his shows.
In 2000, Leary founded the Leary Firefighters Foundation after six firefighters from his hometown were killed in a massive warehouse fire. Two of the dead were close to Leary: his cousin Jerry Lucey and his childhood friend Lieutenant Tommy Spencer. Since its creation, the foundation has distributed more than $25 million for equipment, training materials, new equipment, and new facilities to fire departments in the Worcester, Boston, and New York City areas.
Another fund run by Leary’s foundation, the Fund for New York ’s Bravest, has distributed more than $2 million to the families of the firefighters killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
As the Leary Firefighters Foundation’s president, Leary has developed close relationships with the Official Fire Department City of New York (FDNY). This resulted in him creating and starring FX’s dark comedy-drama Rescue Me in 2004. For the pilot episode, Leary wore a Leary Firefighter Foundation 9-11 Memorial t-shirt. In July 2006, he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Tommy Gavin.

The video became a staple of MTV’s late-night programming but was too explicit and controversial for mainstream American radio.
In 1997 he released another record, Lock ‘N Load, and followed that up with the EP Merry F#%$in’ Christmas in 2004.In 2003, Comedy Central honored Denisin the Comedy Central Roast of Denis Leary. Roasters included Conan O Brien, Jon Stewart and Michael J Fox.
