Denise Lee Richards was born on February 17, 1972, in Downers Grove, Illinois. When she was fifteen, her family moved to Oceanside, California where they opened several coffeehouses named Jitters. After graduation from high school, Denise Richards began modeling internationally in Paris, Japan, and New York and eventually landed the popular cover girl spot for Bonne Bell. Teenagers everywhere identified with her natural beauty and became instant fans. Her trademark thick eyebrows, full lips, and matching bust were appealing, and they soon began to get the attention of casting agents.
Although she had no formal training, Denise Richards easily won roles on hip television shows in the 1990s such as Saved By The Bell in 1991, Married…With Children in 1991, Beverly Hills 90210 in 1992, Melrose Place in 1992, and Seinfeld in 1993. Her appearance on Seinfeld, alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander, received rave reviews and boosted her acting career significantly. She played the innocent, teenager daughter of George’s boss who catches Jerry and George peeking down her blouse before a big deal.
Throughout Denise Richards’ career, we will witness her bouncing back and forth between the sweet, youthful image to desirable, daring seductress.
While none of her roles have been Oscar-worthy, Denise Richards has shown a great deal of diversity and skill on the big screen. Denise Richards made her movie debut in National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1 in 1993. In 1997, Richards co-starred as the serious Carmen Ibanez in the famous sci-fi, Starship Troopers. Her unforgettable, scandalous, steamy lesbian three-way performance in Wild Things in 1998, with Neve Campbell and Matt Dillon, left tongues wagging and mouths agape. The silly comedy, Undercover Brother in 1992, featured Denise Richards as White She-Devil alongside comedian Eddie Griffith. Her most noteworthy performance is as a busty, brainy brunette named Dr. Christmas Jones in The World is Not Enough in 1999, with Pierce Brosnan. Denise Richards will forever be a member of the elite Bond Girl club.
In 1996, Denise Richards had a recurring role on Spin City, which also featured Michael J Fox, and Melrose Place, which starred buddy Heather Locklear and Kristin Davis of Sex and the City fame.
Both Denise Richards and Heather Locklear have been featured in Playboy magazine. Ironically, both women also share the adoration of Locklear’s ex-husband Richie Sambora (of Bon Jovi). Sambora and Richards were spotted kissing and cuddling in April 2006, not long after Richard Sambora and Heather Locklear filed for divorce. Denise Richards’ soon to be ex-husband Charlie Sheen has also appeared on Spin City.
She currently has a restraining order against Charlie Sheen for alleged deadly threats and erratic behavior. Sheen and Richards have two daughters together. Denise Richards showed the world that being a mother would not hinder her career or her image by exposing her flawless figure in Playboy magazine, just months after giving birth to her youngest daughter, in 2006.
Denise Richards was found prancing and purring with the pop group, The Pussycat Dolls, at a Hollywood concert on June 12, 2006 wearing sexy lingerie and showgirl hair.
