Elisabeth Hasselbeck Elisabeth is a television personality who first gained national attention as a contestant on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001. After the reality series ended, she became the youngest host on any daytime talk show when she agreed to co-host The View. She currently co-hosts with Barbara Walters, Rosie O'Donnell, and Joy Behar.
Since taking the coveted seat on The View in 2003, Hasselbeck has appeared on several major magazine covers and been the focus of many articles for publications such as: USA Weekend, Curious Parents, People, TV Guide, Glamour, Us Weekly, Life, Pregnancy, and ePregnancy. Hasselbeck has also been a guest on Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Good Morning America.
She was the host of the Style Network’s The Look for Less from 2002- to 2003, where she helped viewers find designer styles at bargain prices. Hasselbeck has also done commercial work for companies like Reebok, Johnson & Johnson, and Procter & Gamble.
After the birth of her daughter Grace Elisabeth on April 6, 2005, she became the spokesperson for Ultra Bright Beginnings Infant Formula.
Hasselbeck was born as Elisabeth Filarski on May 28, 1977, in Cranston, Rhode Island, to parents Kenneth Filarski and Elisabeth DelPadre. In 1999 she graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, with a focus on large-scale paintings and industrial design. She has recently been honored with the Boston College Distinguished Alumni Award.
Before her work in television, Hasselbeck worked as a shoe designer for Puma in 1998. She designed their street lifestyle line and was only female footwear designer for Puma North America.
After completing the Boston Marathon, she decided to try out for a spot on the second audition of Survivor. In 2003 she replaced Lisa Ling on The View and has used her position as a platform for her conservative political view and frequent involvement in breast cancer charities. She has worked with the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Making Memories Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, The Wireless Amber Alert Program Initiative, and The World Scholar Athlete Games.
In 2001 she became a judge at The Miss Teen USA Pageant. On July 6 of the following year she married her college sweetheart, NFL Quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. In 2004 she spoke in support of President George W Bush at the Republican National Convention.
In 2006 she was upset with the TV drama Law & Order: SVU for naming a character who was raped and murdered in the show Elizabeth Hassenback. She said the use of the name in the October 17 episode was clearly a reference to her and was "socially irresponsible."
