Erin Andrews Biography

 

American television reporter Erin Andrews is one of the premier female sports reporters on television today. Winning a slot with ESPN in 2004, she can currently still be seen with the program. She is also noted for her good looks, winning the title of “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” in a recent poll.

Erin Andrews was born May 4, 1978 in Lewiston, Maine. She obtained her education from the University of Florida, where she graduated in 2000. Knowing she wanted to go the journalism route, Andrews obtained her degree in communications.

 

While at the University of Florida, Andrews joined the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She also pursued her interest in dance when she joined the school’s basketball dance team, the Dazzlers. She was with them from 1997 to 2000.

 

Winning her first career gig straight out of college, she joined FSN Florida. Serving as a freelancer reporter, she was with the program from 2000 to 2001.

 

She then moved on to the Sunshine Network where she reported for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Andrews took this position from 2001 to 2002.

 

Receiving a better job offer in 2002, she once again changed jobs to work with Turner Sports. Winning more and more prestigious roles, she was studio host for the program. As such, she covered the Atlanta Braves as well as the Atlanta Thrashers and Atlanta Hawks.

 

But her breakout year was 2004. In that year, she was offered a job by the prestigious sports network, ESPN. They recruited her in May, and she was taken on a National Hock League reporter.

 

While with ESPN, she also worked the College Football Saturday telecast. She is also noted for her coverage of Big Ten basketball.

 

Proving a valuable asset to the program, she also added Major League Baseball to her sideline reporting duties after just one year.

 

Outside of ESPN, Andrews has also had notable appearances on Great Outdoor Games. She has also been featured twice on the popular sports program Rome Is Burning with host Jim Rome. While on the show, she shared the time with Randy Bennett, John Calipari, Tom Friend, Wladimir Klitschko, Eric Neel, Kelvin Sampson, and others.

 

Winning over fans with her sharp reporting skills as well as her looks, Andrews was dubbed “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” in 2007 by Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine.

 

In her personal life, she has been rumored to be romantically linked with New York Mets third baseman David Wright since 2007.
