Eva AmurriEva Maria Livia Amurri was born on March 15, 1985. She is the daughter of the Italian director, Franco Amurri and actress Susan Sarandon. The two never married and split up shortly after Eva was born.
Amurri’s half-brothers are actors Jack Henry Robbins and Miles Guthrie Robbins. Eva is also the stepdaughter of Tim Robbins. She has a total of six younger half-siblings from both of her parents’ new relationships.
Amurri grew up on various film sets where members of the cast and crew would take turns babysitting her. As a way of giving her something to do while on set, her parents found bit parts for Eva in their films. Amurri’s first film appearance was in 1992's Bob Roberts, which was written and directed by her stepfather, Tim Robbins, who also starred in the film.
This was followed by a slightly larger role in the film, Dead Man Walking in 1995, starring her mom, Susan Sarandon, and Sean Penn. This film was written and directed by Tim Robbins as well. At the time of the premiere, her parents did not allow her to watch the film due to its violent nature.
Eva has also had bit parts in Monkey Trouble in 1994, which was directed by her father, Franco Amurri, and starred Thora Birch and Harvey Keitel. She then made an appearance in Stepmom in 1998, also starring Susan Sarandon, Julia Roberts, and Jena Malone. This was followed by Earthly Possessions in 1999, starring her mom and Stephen Dorff, as well as Anywhere but Here in 1999, starring her mom and Natalie Portman.
Amurri landed her first major role on her own in the indie flick, Made-up in 2002, which was directed by Tony Shalhoub. Although the film has had only limited releases, Amurri was praised for her role in the film. Eva then landed the role of a mom and of Susan Sarandon’s daughter in the film Banger Sisters in 2002, which co-starred Goldie Hawn and Erica Christensen.
Amurri’s next big film on her own was the indie film, Saved! in 2004, co-starring Macaulay Culkin, Mandy Moore, Jena Malone, Patrick Fugit, and Heather Matarazzo. The film, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004, became a success worldwide and has been Eva’s largest role to date.
In 2003, Eva graduated from high school and began attending Brown University as a part of the class of 2007; she is studying anthropology. Amurri also recently spent a semester studying abroad in Bologna, Italy.
In August of 2006 Eva finished filming her next film, The Education of Charlie Banks, which is scheduled to come out in 2007. The film was directed by Fred Durst, front man of the band Limp Bizkit. Durst also co-stars in the film. Her next film will be In Bloom, co-starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood. YUDDY |
