Eva Green Eva Green is a fresh young, face in Hollywood, most recently playing Vesper Lynd, the love interest of James Bond, in the 2006 version of Casino Royale. Green has also played opposite other actors of leading man status including Orlando Bloom and Liam Neeson in Kingdom of Heaven.
Eva Gaëlle Green is a native of Paris, France, born there on July 5, 1980. She and her non-identical twin sister were born to Walter Green, a dentist, and Marlène Jobert, an actress. Evan Green studied acting at Saint Paul Drama School in Paris for three years and then attended Weber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Green also briefly studied directing at the Tisch School of Arts at New York University.
Green returned to Paris after her studies and appeared in numerous stage productions. After catching the eye of director Bernardo Bertolucci in 2003, and brushing up on English at his request, he cast Green in The Dreamers. Green won Best Actress at the European Film Awards for her role in the movie.
Green followed this performance in the blockbuster film Kingdom of Heaven in 2005, produced by Ridley Scott. Green and Bloom’s lip-locking scene in the film won them a Teen Choice Award. Green subsequently turned down the role that went to Hilary Swank in The Black Dahlia to avoid being typecast as the femme fatale. She did however accept the role of Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale.
Those who enjoy the onscreen duo of Craig and Green in Casino Royale will be happy to know that the two will be seen reunited in the upcoming film, His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass, directed by Chris Weitz and also starring Nicole Kidman. In this film version of Philip Pullman’s novel, Green plays Serafina Pekkala, queen of witches.
Green’s European accent and striking beauty leave her poised to be the queen of hearts. Already garnering plenty of attention from her male fan base, Green shares her free time with romantic interest Marton Csokas, whom she met while filming Kingdom of Heaven.
