Heather GrahamBlonde bombshell actress Heather Graham was born on January 29, 1970, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While growing up, Graham became interested in acting early on. She landed her first stage role playing Dorothy in a school production of The Wizard of Oz, and continued acting throughout high school with the theater department. The daughter of an FBI agent, Graham lived in Virginia before the family was required to move to California for her father’s job. After graduating from Agoura High School in 1988, Graham headed to Los Angeles , where she worked a variety of odd jobs, including a stint as an usher at the Hollywood Bowl amphitheater.
In 1988, Graham landed her first film role alongside iconic 80s duo, "The Coreys" – Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. The following year, she was cast as a drug addict in Gus Van Sant's critically acclaimed film, Drugstore Cowboy. In 1990, Graham snagged a recurring role on popular brain-bending series Twin Peaks, and the following year, acted in the made-for-TV movie O Pioneers!
In 1992, Graham’s supporting role in the film Diggstown led to a May through December romance with co-star James Woods. Graham’s big break finally came in 1996 when she was cast in hit film Swingers, playing the girl of Jon Favreau's dreams. The following year, Graham had a bit part in Scream 2 alongside Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox, which led to her breakthrough role in Boogie Nights in1997, in which she starred as porn actress, Rollergirl. Although her role as Rollergirl boosted her profile in Hollywood , Graham’s Irish Catholic parents, from whom she is currently estranged, reportedly protested her full-nude scenes in the film.
In 1997, Graham starred alongside Ryan Phillippe in Nowhere, and with Robert Downey Jr. in the critically acclaimed Two Girls and a Guy. Graham finished off the decade on a high note by getting top billing in both the Steve Martin comedy Bowfinger and the Austin Powers sequel, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Also in 1999, Graham was recognized with the ShoWest convention's Female Star of Tomorrow title.
The new millennium saw Graham starring in a string of films that did not fare well at the box office, including From Hell, The Guru, and Killing Me Softly. Graham decided to try her luck on the small-screen, and began appearing in ABC comedy Emily's Reasons Why Not, which was cancelled after just one episode. Graham made up for it with a recurring role on hospital comedy Scrubs.
In 2006, Graham was cast as a phone operator amongst a star-studded lineup for Emilio Estevez’s film Bobby, which also includes performances by Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, William H. Macy, Elijah Wood, Lindsay Lohan, Helen Hunt, Harry Belafonte, and Christian Slater. YUDDY |
