Jae Head Biography

Child actor Jae Head has only appeared in a handful of projects, but in his short time onscreen, he has already made a big impression on critics and audiences. Although he has his entire career ahead of him, he currently remains best known for his recurring role on Friday Night Lights and for his work in the blockbuster film Hancock.

Interested in acting from a very early age, Jae Head made his onscreen debut in 2005 with a one-episode appearance on the well-received comedy series How I Met Your Mother. Playing Leroy in the episode entitled “Purple Giraffe,” Head shared the screen with series regulars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alyson Hannigan.

He followed with the 2006 comedy The Angriest Man in Suburbia. Not your typical made for television movie, the project was very well received by its small audience. Directed by Barnet Kellman, Head appeared this time around with fellow actors Logan Grove, Richard Kind, Allen C Liu, and others.

He rounded out 2006 with a very brief appearance on the comedy sketch show Mad TV. He took to the screen with regulars Frank Caliendo, Crista Flanagan, Michael McDonald, and many other comedians.

Finding steadier work in 2007, Head received his first rush of exposure through the popular drama series Friday Night Lights. Winning a five-episode stint, Head portrayed Bo Miller. The series is anchored by leads Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Gaius Charles, Zach Gilford, and Taylor Kitsch.

Breaking into the mainstream in a big way, Head’s career received an incredible boost in 2008. Auditioning for and landing the role of Aaron Embrey, Head became part of the supporting cast for the big budget action drama Hancock.

Directed by Peter Berg, Head was able to brush shoulders with some of current Hollywood’s most respected and sought after actors. To that end, he shared scenes with Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Jason Bateman. The supporting cast was rounded out by Eddie Marsan, David Mattey, Johnny Galecki, and Hayley Marie Norman.

Head does not currently have any projects in the works, but that is sure to change as the young actor’s career continues to flourish.

In his personal life, Head enjoys a variety of sports. When he’s not onset, he plays everything from basketball and football to baseball and golf.
