Jennifer Esposito Bio

Jennifer Esposito

This beautiful television and film actress and dancer hailing from Brooklyn, New York, has enjoyed a fairly diverse career in acting. She is known for taking a number of roles playing Hispanic characters, even though she’s actually Italian American.

Jennifer Esposito was born on April 11, 1973, and has one older sister. As an Italian, Esposito was quoted in an interview regarding her heritage: “Well I’m Italian, but my family aren't stereotypical. I mean, I only have one sister and we don’t yell or throw pasta at each other. My mother doesn’t even have a secret spaghetti sauce recipe.”

Esposito first appeared in 1995’s made-for-TV movie The Sunshine Boys, which starred Woody Allen, Peter Falk, Michael McKean, Liev Schreiber, Edie Falco, and Sarah Jessica Parker. She then went on to appear in a number of different TV series and films, including a recurring role on the show New York Undercover, as well as in 1998’s thriller I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr

However, Esposito didn’t gain popularity or even much recognition until she landed the role of Stacey from 1997 until 1999 on the hit sitcom Spin City, which starred Michael J Fox, Heather Locklear, Richard Kind, Barry Bostwick, Michael Boatman, and Alan Ruck. After her Spin City days, Esposito appeared in the 1999 romantic comedy The Bachelor, starring Chris O’Donnell and Renée Zellweger. She also starred in both the controversial Summer of Sam in 1999, along with John Leguizamo, Adrien Brody, and Mira Sorvino; as well as in Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000 in 2000 as the vampire Solina, alongside Gerard Butler as Dracula, Christopher Plummer, Jonny Lee Miller, and Omar Epps

She took the lead in 2001’s The Proposal as rookie cop Susan Reese, opposite Nick Moran; and she also appeared alongside Dana Carvey and Brent Spiner in 2002’s The Master of Disguise.  In 2004, Esposito appeared in Breakin’ All the Rules, which starred Jamie Foxx and Gabrielle Union. Also that year, she played Ria, a detective’s girlfriend in the hit (and, incidentally, Academy Award-winning) dramatic film Crash, which also featured Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, and Ryan Phillippe

Esposito is married to Bradley Cooper, an actor known for his roles on Alias as well as 2005’s Wedding Crashers , which also starred Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn; and Failure to Launch in 2006 as the buddy of Matthew McConaughey’s character.

Esposito recently moved back to the small screen where she played a recurring role as Louann “Crystal” Turner on the series Judging Amy, starring Amy Brenneman, and she also starred as one of the four Sorelli sisters on the short-lived series Related.
