American television and film actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was born February 21, 1979, in Waco, Texas. Her parents are Herbert Daniel Hewitt and Patricia Mae Shipp, a technician and speech pathologist respectively.

Growing up in Harker Heights, Texas, Hewitt’s parents divorced when she was young. She and her brother Todd Hewitt were raised by their mother. Hewitt demonstrated talent and a thirst for the spotlight from very early on; as young as three years old, she could be found singing at various livestock shows. Just two short years later, ballet and tap were already second nature to her, and by age nine she was a part of the Texas Show Team, which traveled all over Europe performing their routines.

When Hewitt was ten, it became obvious to talent scouts and the family alike that she was destined for stardom. In order to pursue her acting and singing career, the family moved to Los Angeles, California.

Hewitt’s career in front of the camera began with a slew of television commercials until she finally landed a recurring role on the Disney Channel production Kids Incorporated. She appeared on the show from 1989 to 1991. Other Kids Incorporated regulars that eventually made it big include Mario Lopez and Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson of the Black Eyed Peas.

Following Kids Incorporated, Hewitt spent the next four years searching for another hit. She starred in several failed television pilots, including Running Wilde opposite Pierce Brosnan.

But all her efforts paid off in 1995. She landed the role of Sarah Reeves in the Fox television series Party of Five. Joining in the second season, Hewitt appeared on the show from 1995 to 1999. The show helped launch her career alongside other budding actors Neve Campbell, Scott Wolf, Matthew Fox, Lacey Chabert, and Jeremy London. Additionally, she appeared in the spin-off Time of Your Life in 1999, but the show only lasted half a season.

Hewitt became even more well known in 1997 when she landed a lead role in the new teen horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer and the 1998 follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. The original film also starred teen sensations Freddie Prinze Jr, Ryan Phillippe, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Many know Hewitt for her role in the high school oriented comedy Can’t Hardly Wait in 1998, with Ethan Embry and Seth Green. Another notable role came beside Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Jason Lee, Anne Bancroft, and Gene Hackman in Heartbreakers in 2001.

But it wasn’t all hits and success. Hewitt saw her share of box office flops as well. Her role in The Tuxedo, opposite stuntman extraordinaire Jackie Chan, was one such film, as well as Garfield with Breckin Meyer.

Currently, Hewitt can be seen in her hugely successful television series Ghost Whisperer about a newly married antique dealer who can speak to the dead.

Also prosperous on the music front, Hewitt has released four albums finding success particularly in Europe .

She has announced a new film due out in 2007 titled She Had Brains, a Body, and the Ability to Make Men Love Her.

Hewitt was romantically linked with fellow actor, and Scotsman, Ross McCall since late 2005 and became engaged in November 2007. But once again, just two years into the relationship everythig fell apart for Jennifer when the couple split during the Christmas holidays in 2008.

Jennifer has previously been in relationships with Carson Daly, Will Friedel, Joey Lawrence, John Mayer, and LFO band member Rich Cronin. The LFO song, "Girl on TV," was actually written about Jennifer Love Hewitt.
