Jermaine Jackson Biography Jermaine Jackson, was born on December 11th 1954 in Gary, Indiana. The son of Joseph Jackson and his wife Katherine, he has also become known as Muhammad Abdul Aziz since converting to Islam. Jackson grew up in a show biz family and with a musical background and having siblings Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, he's never too far from the spotlight. Jermaine was actually the original leader of the family group, The Jackson Five, until he began to co-lead with Michael. After 14 years of performing with his brothers – including their time signed to Motown records – he split from the group to continue a solo career with the label. At the time, he was married to Hazel Gordy, the daughter of Motown founder, Berry Gordy. In 1980, Jermaine was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for the album Let's Get Serious. In the early '90s, he also dabbled in TV production, creating the miniseries, The Jacksons: An American Dream about the history of his family. Jermaine Jr. played his father as a young teenager in the series. He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2007 with Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd, and Jo O'Meara. He ended up coming in second place.
Currently, Jermaine is planning a stage show based on his family to be released in the UK. He has said that The Jacksons are recording an album and planning a family tour. Jermaine has three children with his first wife, Hazel - Jermaine Jr. (often called Jay), Autumn and Jaimy. He also has two children - Jeremy Maldonado Jackson and Jourdynn Michael Jackson - with the woman he was with after Hazel, Margaret Maldonado. Following this relationship, he went on to abruptly marry Alejandra Genevieve Oaiaza, who had been in a long term relationship with Jermaine's brother, Randy. During this marriage, Donte Jackson was given to Jermaine and Alejandra by adoption from Joseph Jackson. The couple had a son named Jaffar in 1996, and another named Jermajesty in 2000. Jermaine and Alejandra filed for divorce on 2007 and it was finalized in May 2008. However it came to light during the court hearings that Alejandra was already married to Nicholas Ray at the same time as being married to Jermaine which meant that the marriage between Jermaine and Alejandra was null and void. Jermaine converted to Islam in 1989, after making a trip to the holy city of Makkah and visiting Bahrain in 1980. In the past 18 months Jermaine has made several appearances on UK television. Among the shows he has been seen guesting on is the Channel 4 show Musicool, the Islam Channel where he talks about his faith, Kate and Peter: Unleashed, which features Katie Price and her Australian husband Peter Andre. Also in 2007, Jermaine appeared on Challenge Anneka, a show which sees celebrities assisting in remodeling buildings, homes and businesses for charitable purposes. With charities being one of Jackson’s passions he joined British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 2007 on an anti-racism tour on the Daily Mirror’s Hope Not Hate bus.
