Jimmy Fallon Bio

Jimmy Fallon

Currently pursuing a film career, Jimmy Fallon remains to many that guy on Saturday Night Live who always laughed during skits.

James Thomas Fallon, known popularly as Jimmy Fallon, was born September 19, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were Jim Fallon and Gloria Fallon. From a traditional Catholic family, Fallon went to school at both St. Mary of the Snow and Saugerties High School. Graduating in 1992, Fallon pursued his secondary education at The College of Saint Rose located in Albany, New York. His declared major was communications, but he dropped out with just fifteen credits left in order to pursue his longtime dream of acting.

After a one-episode appearance opposite Michael J Fox in the comedy series Spin City, Fallon landed the job that every young, aspiring comedian dreams about. He got the audition for Saturday Night Live, which he won in 1998. He quickly earned himself fans for his Adam Sandler-like impersonations and musical mimicries. He went from intern to regular in no time at all, even winning the coveted "Weekend Update" spot opposite Tina Fey.

He became somewhat notorious for his seeming inability to get through sketches without cracking up, especially when he was beside friend Horatio Sanz. Fallon left, of his own accord, in 2004 in order to pursue a film career.

Even before departing SNL, Fallon took bit parts in several successful films and one notable short. Airing at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, Sex and the Matrix, with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Laurence Fishburne, and Vince Vaughn, was a huge success. He could also be seen in the 2000 critical darling Almost Famous, starring Billy Crudup, Kate Hudson, Patrick Fugit, and co-stars Frances McDormand and Zooey Deschanel.

His first starring role came in 2004 with the tepidly received Taxi, opposite Queen Latifah, Jennifer Esposito, Gisele Bundchen, and Ann Margret. He followed with the better-received film adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel Fever Pitch, wherein he co-starred with Drew Barrymore.

In 2006, he lent his voice talents to the half life-action, half-animated film Arthur and the Invisibles. Freddy Highmore and Mia Farrow starred, while voice actors included Madonna, Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Chazz Palminteri, and Emilio Estevez. Fallon also took an important role in the somewhat panned film Factory Girl, with stars Sienna Miller, Guy Pearce, Mena Suvari, and Hayden Christensen.

Fallon is currently in post-production for the comedy/drama Rockett, about a man deeply devoted to his work but unable to offer the same commitment to his girlfriend. Actors and details are liable to shift, because the project is in production. However, Fallon is currently attached, as well as Sharon Stone, Lucy Liu, Tom Arnold, and Illeana Douglas.

Fallon's 2002 comedy album The Bathroom Wall was even nominated for a Grammy. He also wrote a humorous book titled I Hate this Place: The Pessimist's Guide to Life, and a children's book, Snowball Fight!

Oddly enough, Fallon is also widely associated with a 2006 Pepsi commercial in which he can be seen dancing down the street with actress Parker Posey.

Fallon has never been married.
