Justin Long  

American actor Justin Long skyrocketed into the mainstream with his memorable Mac ads and a lead role in the summer blockbuster hit Live Free or Die Hard. A hot commodity, Long currently has four different films in various stages of completion.

Justin Lake Long was born June 2, 1978 in Fairfield, Connecticut. His mother is stage actress Wendy Lesniak, and his father is R James Long, a professor at Fairfield University. Growing up in a strict, Catholic family, Long attended Fairfield College Preparatory School followed by Vassar College. It was here he pursued his passion for acting, appearing onstage and becoming an acting instructor to a children’s theater group.

Launching his career in 1999, Long made his film debut opposite Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell in the space comedy Galaxy Quest. Although this film was well received by critics and viewers alike, Long wouldn’t receive his breakout role until 2001. In this year, he was cast as the lead in the horror film Jeepers Creepers with Gina Philips and Jonathan Breck. He also appeared briefly in the follow up Jeepers Creepers II in 2003.

Hitting bumps in his career, Long did appear in the absolute critical flop Crossroads with Britney Spears, Anson Mount, Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Dan Aykroyd, and Kim Cattrall.

Luckily for Long, he had a hit television series to balance out his film blunders. Appearing on the series Ed from 2000 to 2003, Long acted beside leads Thomas Cavanagh, Julie Bowen, and Rachel Cronin. Long portrayed the quirky high school student Warren P Cheswick, and many fans of the show considered Warren a bright spot in the series.

Continuing in the comedic vein, Long next appeared in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story beside Vince Vaughn, Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller, Rip Torn, Alan Tudyk, and Missi Pyle.

His next notable role came with Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris, and Dane Cook in Waiting…, followed by the Lindsay Lohan flick Herbie Fully Loaded, and the independent but well-received comedy The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang in 2006.

2006 proved another big year for Long as he took roles in Dreamland, The Break-Up with Jennifer Aniston, and led the cast of Accepted.

All of these parts culminated in his arguably largest role to date opposite Bruce Willis in Live Free or Die Hard.

He recently completed filming Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story starring Jenna Fischer, Paul Rudd, and John C Reilly. He is also signed on to appear in Patriotville, Still Waiting…, and He’s Just Not That Into You.

He also increased his visibility with a series of highly successful Mac commercials where he portrays “Mac” to John Hodgman’s “PC.”

In his personal life, he was dating his Waiting… costar Kaitlin Doubleday. They recently broke up, however, and Long is now rumored to be dating Drew Barrymore.
