Kaley Cuoco Biography American actress Kaley Cuoco has been on the acting scene since 1992, but she is most known for her long running role as Bridget Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules…for Dating My Teenage Daughter. Since then, she has made a name for herself on series such as Charmed and The Big Bang Theory. Kaley Christine Cuoco was born November 30, 1985 in Camarillo, California. Her parents were Gary Carmine Cuoco and Layne Ann Wingate, a realtor and homemaker respectively. Briana Cuoco is her younger sister and only sibling. Because she was so heavily involved with acting from an early age, Cuoco did not have time to attend a standard school. Rather, she was home schooled and secured her GED by the age of sixteen. Although her love of acting emerged early, she actually took up tennis at the age of three. Before long, she found herself a nationally ranked amateur. She was eventually forced to choose, however, between acting and tennis, and she, of course, chose acting. Her entertainment career began at the young age of six, when she began appearing in various modeling gigs and commercials. She made her onscreen debut as an actress, however, in 1992. In this year, she played Connie Reinhardt in Quicksand: No Escape. She appeared beside Donald Sutherland, Tim Matheson, and Felicity Huffman.
She continued to find sporadic work with various films and television programs until 2000. In this year, she was lucky enough to land a recurring role on the sitcom Ladies Man. She appeared as Bonnie Stiles opposite leads Alfred Molina, Sharon Lawrence, Betty White, and Alexa Vega. Cuoco continued her rise to stardom in 2002 when she auditioned for and won the role of Bridget Hennessy on the well-received sitcom 8 Simple Rules…for Dating My Teenage Daughter. Comprising one of the core leads, she appeared beside Katey Sagal and Amy Davidson. James Garner and David Spade became recurring characters on the show as well, but this was only after the unexpected and tragic death of onscreen father John Ritter. Cuoco was with the program until its conclusion in 2005. Bouncing right back, she soon found herself with another popular series. This time around, she appeared as Billie Jenkins on Charmed from 2005 to 2006. She supported series regulars Holly Marie Donoho, Alyssa Milano, Brian Krause, and Rose McGowan.
Most recently, Cuoco has found success with a new but popular sitcom entitled The Big Bang Theory. She plays lead female Penny opposite Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, and Simon Helberg. Others may know Cuoco not for her acting, but for her voice work. To that end, she lent her vocal abilities to Brandy & Mr. Whiskers from 2004 to 2006. Charles Adler provided the voice for the other principal character. In her personal life, Cuoco currently resides in San Fernando Valley, California. She lives with her two dogs, Petey and Duke. Romantically linked to a number of people, she has been rumored to date Thad Luckinbill, Kevin Zegers, Jaron Lowenstein, Josh Henderson, and Al Santos. |
