Kevin Federline

Kevin Federline is best known in the public eye as the now ex-husband to pop star, Britney Spears. After marrying Spears in 2005, Federline decided to release his own rap album, which was released in 2006.

Federline was born in 1978 in Fresno, California, and began his back-up dancing career working on tours for Justin Timberlake and the former boy band, LFO.

Before dating Britney Spears, K-Fed, as he is known in the media, was in a relationship with actress Shar Jackson. His first daughter, Kori, was born in 2002. While Shar was pregnant with their second child Kaleb, born in 2004, Kevin met and fell in love with Britney Spears. Kaleb was born two months after Spears and Federline met. Shar has accused Britney of breaking up the family, although Kevin contests that the relationship was over long before he met Britney.

Federline and Spears met at the Hollywood nightclub Joseph’s, in April of 2004. They spent a week straight together and when Britney had to leave the country for the European leg of her Onyx Hotel Tour, she invited Kevin to come with her as one of her dancers.

During the tour, Britney and Kevin took a series of home videos together, which they later turned into the reality TV show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. The show originally aired on UPN, followed by a subsequent airing on MTV.

Returning from the tour, Britney proposed to Kevin on the plane. Although Federline initially said no, he later asked Britney if she would marry him. Rumor has it that Federline was unable to pay for her engagement ring, so Britney had to pay for it herself. Following the engagement there were several fights with Britney’s mom, Lynn Spears, who wanted Kevin to sign a prenuptial agreement.

Britney became pregnant with Federline’s child in April of 2005. His third child, Sean Preston, was born in September of 2005 and one year later, in May of 2006, Britney announced that she was pregnant again with what would be Kevin’s fourth child. She gave birth to Jayden James in September of 2006.

Federline has faced ridicule in the media because it appears he was trying to spend all of Britney’s fortune. Among his toys include a Ferrari 360 Spider, which was given to him by Spears. He also spends a great deal of money in casinos.

In an attempt to earn a living of his own, Federline began charging people who wanted him to attend their parties. In the course of four months, Federline made over one million dollars simply for making these appearances.

Federline also decided to become a rap artist; a notion that spawned ridicule from many televisions hosts, especially Conan O Brien and Jay Leno. His debut album, Playing With Fire, was released in October of 2006. He performed his first official single, Lose Control, at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards.

Spears filed for a divorce from Kevin in November of 2006 due to irreconcilable differences. It has been rumored that Spears text messaged Kevin to let him know she was divorcing him. The two are currently battling over custody of the two children.
