Lacey Chabert BiographyLacey Nicole Chabert which she states is pronounced 'shu-BEHR' has grown up in the limelight as a child actress, best known for her role on Party of Five when she starred alongside other newcomers Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve Campbell. Chabert was born on September 30, 1982, in Purvis, Mississippi, to Julie and Tony Chabert. She has three siblings, T.J., Wendy, and Crissy, the family have French and Scottish connections.
Chabert is known to have a love of dogs and the three teacup Chihuahuas named Teaspoon, Tealeaf, and Teacup are the four legged friends in her life. At an early age, Chabert showed an interest in dancing, singing, and acting and in 1991, she made it to the finals on Star Search, introduced by the now deceased Ed Mcmahon, which led to her landing a cough syrup commercial in her hometown. Little did Lacey known at this time that not far in the future was Broadway where Chabert began her sussessful career in the entertainment industry starring as Cosette in the Broadway play Les Miserables.
Chabert was also a part of a group called the Broadway Kids, which also included actress Christy Carlson Romano. In 1994 Chabert and her family moved out to Los Angeles after her casting on the series Party of Five, where role as Claudia Salinger kept her very busy. Other co-stars on the series included Scott Wolf and a young Matthew Fox.
Following her run on Party of Five, Chabert became the voice of Eliza Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys in 1998, which also led to an animated movie. Since ending her run on Party of Five, Chabert has never found Hollywood roles difficult to come by.
Some of her more high profile roles include Dirty Deeds in 2005 and Black Christmas in 2006, co-starring Michelle Trachtenberg. She has also starred in several TV movies like Hello Sister, Goodbye Life in 2006 and The Brooke Ellison Story in 2004. Chabert has proven her talent as an actress and the critics have taken notice. She has won several awards for her performances including an MTV Movie Award in 2005 for Best On-Screen Team with her co-stars in Mean Girls, who included Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and Amanda Seyfried. During the early days of her acting career Chabert has been nominated for, and won several YoungStar awards, which are designed exclusively for stars between the ages of six and eighteen. In her spare time, Chabert enjoys photography and through that interest she encourages teens to seek similair creative outlets, another of which she is also acccomplished at, the playing of the violin. More hobby based interests of Lacey's include shoe shopping and Cajun cooking.
Chabert also makes use of her status as a celebrity in her endeavours to highlight good causes. On more than one occasion, Lacey has participated in the Celebrity Server Dinner at the Palm Restaurant, located in Los Angeles. The event includes celebrities serving $250 meals to diners with all proceeds of the event going toward Victory of Violence. Lacey's beauty also led to her being featured on the cover of Maxim magazine for January 2007 having been voted #1 Reader's Choice.
In June 2009 Lacey starred alongside veteran actor Michael Douglas in the chick flick comedy, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which sees committed bachelor, Matthew McConaughey, being visited by the ghost of his former jilted girlfriends on the eve of his brother's wedding.
