Leslie Bibb Bio

Leslie Bibb Biography

American actress Leslie Bibb first established her career in modeling, but she quickly transitioned to film and television. She remains best known for her work in Popular, Talladega Nights, and Iron Man. Leslie Louise Bibb was born November 17, 1974 in Bismarck, North Dakota.

She was subsequently raised in Nelson County, Virginia. Bibb suffered the unexpected death of her father when she was only three years old. After the tragedy, Bibb relocated to Richmond, Virginia with her mother and three sisters.

It was in Richmond that Bibb attended Saint Gertrude High School, an all-girl Catholic school. But at sixteen years old, Bibb’s career was already underway. In 1990, Bibb’s mother entered pictures of her young daughter to a contest held by Oprah Winfrey and Elite Agency. With judges Iman, Linda Evangelista, John Casablancas, and Naomi Campbell, Bibb was selected as the overall winner. Shortly after, she signed with Elite Agency.

Taking jobs immediately, Bibb traveled to locations as far as Japan while pursuing her fashion career. She did, however, return for her senior year of high school. As such, she graduated in 1992. Opting to attend college, Bibb enrolled in the University of Virginia. She was there one semester before relocating to New York City on a more permanent basis. Making modeling her first priority, Bibb quickly found herself in the pages of FHM, Maxim, and other publications.

She didn’t, however, give up on education. Pursuing her acting as well, Bibb studied three years at the William Esper Acting Studio. She put those skills to use in 1996 when she made her onscreen debut in Pacific Blue. She followed with a one-episode stint opposite Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson in the popular sitcom Home Improvement. The following year, she earned a great deal of exposure for her work in the controversial Howard Stern comedy Private Parts. The rest of the year was spent bouncing around various television series such as Just Shoot Me and Fired Up. Finally catching the attention of the right people, Bibb earned a spot in the new comedy/drama Popular.

Playing Brooke McQueen, she appeared from 1999 to 2001 opposite fellow series regulars Carly Pope, Tamara Mello, Sara Rue, and others. With the end of the series, Bibb translated her newfound popularity into roles in films such as The Skulls with Joshua Jackson, Paul Walker, and Hill Harper. She also turned out lighthearted projects such as the family-friendly See Spot Run. The 2001 comedy featured David Arquette, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Angus T Jones. Becoming a common face among television fans, Bibb also had extended stints with ER (from 2002 to 2003), Line of Fire (from 2003 to 2004), and Crossing Jordan (from 2005 to 2007).

Others may also recognize Bibb for her role as Carley Bobby in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. She shared the screen with Will Ferrell, John C Reilly, and Amy Adams. She also took a minor role in Jon Favreau’s blockbuster hit Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Most recently, she can be seen in the horror spoof Trick ‘r Treat with Brian Cox and Dylan Baker.

In her personal life, Bibb married Rob Born on November 22, 2003. They divorced shortly after in late 2004. Also interested in philanthropy, Bibb is a longtime supporter of the orphanage Friends of El Faro.
