Liam Hemsworth Biography Another up and coming actor from down under, Australia, this soap star is gradually making his way onto big screen productions and into the ’watch list’ of Hollywood producers. Liam Hemsworth was born on Australia in 1990 and raised in Melbourne, the same city that boasts other soap opera actors Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue. By the time Liam had reached eight years old his parents relocated the family to Phillip Island which is situated approximately 140 kilometres South East of Melbourne. After graduating high school, Liam first found employment in the construction industry for a few months before pursuing an acting career along with his two older brothers, Christopher and Luke Hemsworth. In 2007, following in Luke’s footsteps, Liam began his role as Josh Taylor on the Australian soap opera, Neighbours, which also saw the start of fellow Aussie, Natalie Imbruglio’s acting career. Feeling the need to expand his career prospects Liam moved to the United States in 2009 taking up residence in an apartment in Los Angeles with his brother Christopher Hemsworth. Liam also voiced "Marcus" in the television series The Elephant Princess and had roles in the television series Satisfaction and another Australian soap opera Home and Away which had spawned the acting career of Dannii Minogue. Although in 2009, after moving to the USA to screen test for the lead role in Thor, it was actually Liam’s brother Chris who landed the role, but that wasn’t the end to Liam’s movie career when in May 2009 Disney signed him up to star opposite Miley Cyrus in the movie of the book, The Last Song, by Nicholas Sparks. Hemsworth was signed up for the role of Will Blakelee and as his love interest grew for Miley’s character on screen, it was rumored that the pair we also becoming more than co-stars in real life. Further fuel was added to the fire when Liam appeared in Cyrus’ video which accompanied her single release, When I Look at You in 2009. Both parties denied any romantic involvement off screen.
