Lisa Rinna Biography Lisa Rinna was born on July 11, 1963, in Medford, Oregon. Rinna lived in Medford until she graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1981. While in school, Rinna was a member of the Brownies and she was also a dedicated cheerleader through her junior high and high school. Rinna was known in high school for having the skinniest legs on the cheerleading squad. She also participated in sports, including tennis and skiing. Rinna’s first film was Captive Rage in 1988, starring Oliver Reed. This was followed up by the TV movie, Lies Before Kisses in 1991, starring Jaclyn Smith. Rinna then became a well-known face when she landed the role of Billie Reed on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. She stayed on the show for three years, but in 1996 Aaron Spelling talked Rinna into becoming a member of the Melrose Place cast. Some of her fellow cast members on the show included Kristen Davis, Courtney Thorne Smith, Alyssa Milano, Marcia Cross, and Vanessa Williams. Rinna left the popular show in 1998.
Other TV movies that Rinna has made an appearance in include Robot Wars in 1993, co-starring Don Michael Paul; Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 1998, co-starring David Hasselhoff, Sandra Hess, and Scott Heindle; and Another Woman’s Husband in 2000, co-starring Gail O’Grady.
In 1997 Rinna married fellow actor, Harry Hamlin. The couple’s first daughter, Delilah Belle Hamlin, was born in 1998. While pregnant with her, Rinna posed nude for Hugh Hefner's Playboy magazine in the September 1998 issue. In 2001 Rinna gave birth to their second daughter, Amelia Gray. The family resides in Newport Beach, California.
Lisa owns and operates two clothing boutiques called Belle Gray, named after her two daughters middle names. Her stores are located in Sherman Oaks, California, and Calabasas, California. The clothing store features designs by Juicy Couture, True Religion, Joe Bush, Citizen’s of Humanity, and Diane Von Furstenburg.
In 2002 Rinna began co-hosting the show Soap Talk. Her role as host earned her a Daytime Emmy Award Nomination, but the show was eventually cancelled due to low ratings. In 2003 she began hosting the series Merge, which airs on Lifetime.
Lisa has co-starred on more than one occasion with her husband, Harry Hamlin. The two starred in the Lifetime movie, Sex, Lies & Obsession, which aired in 2001. They also starred together as a married couple on the first season of the television show Veronica Mars, starring Kristen Bell.
Lisa also participated on the second season of Dancing with the Stars with her partner, Louis von Amstel. The pair was eliminated seventh in a controversial twist because the pair had scored higher marks than Jerry Rice and his partner who went on to the next round. Other celebrity dancers on that season include Stacy Keibler, Drew Lachey, Master P, George Hamilton, and Tatum ONeal.
Proving that being in her late 40's was no bar to being sexy, Lisa once again made an appearance on the cover, and in a nude pictorial, of Hugh Hefner's Playboy magazine in April 2009 with the title, ' Are you trying to seduce us Ms. Rinna?' |
