Voted as the class flirt at his high school, Luke has been known for dating his share of Hollywood actresses. Most notably, he dated Baywatch star Yasmine Bleeth in the 1990s. In 1997 he married his wife, Minnie and the couple had a son, Jack Perry, born in June of 1997. They later had a daughter, Sophie, who was born in June of 2000. Minnie and Luke separated in 2003. He currently owns two Boxers, and once owned a pot-bellied pig, named after Jerry Lee Lewis.

When Perry originally auditioned for Beverly Hills 90210, he originally wanted the part of Steve. In the end, the character of Steve went to Ian Ziering and Perry turned out to be perfect for the role of Dylan. Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green, and Tiffani Thiessen rounded out the rest of the cast on Beverly Hills 90210. The show aired in 1989 and quickly became a hit among teens and adults alike. In 1991, the show won a Golden Globe for Best Dramatic Television Series.

Luke’s first feature film was 8 Seconds, where he played the bull rider, Lane Frost. In order to realistically play the role, Perry trained as a bull rider for eighteen months. He also co-produced the film. Other films that Perry has participated in include Fifth Element in 1997, starring Bruce Willis; Riot, Normal Life; and The Florentine, co-starring Chris Penn, Jim Belushi, and Michael Madsen. He has also just finished filming two new films, Fogbound and The Enemy, this year.

On top of films, Perry has also worked on several television shows after Beverly Hills 90210 ended. Currently he is shooting a new Sci-Fi show for Showtime called Jeremiah, which is based on a comic book series by the same name. He was also developed into a new character for the critically acclaimed OZ, on HBO.

In 2004, Perry expanded his acting career to include theater. He performed in his first play at the prestigious West End in London in the show When Harry Met Sally. His co-star was actress Alyson Hannigan.
