Malin Akerman From child model, to Ford Supermodel, to singer in her own band, there’s clearly no artistic stone that has been left unturned by the Californian blonde with Swedish heritance. Malin Akerman hails originally from Sweden where she was born in the country’s capitol Stockholm, on May 12, 1978. After just two years in her homeland her father’s career saw the family moving across the Atlantic to Toronto, Canada. Just one year after the move to Canada Malin’s parents split and this inspired the youngster to become independent and self motivated. At the age of five, Malin had embarked on a modeling career and was soon spotted as an bright new face for commercials. By 17 Akerman had won the Ford Supermodel of Canada search. Once she had completed her education, and after following a successful modeling career she decided to branch out into a career in acting in Toronto. Although her choice of Toronto gave her a good start after, landing her a role in a Steven Spielberg television series, it was really her move to California that saw her blossom into a much pursed starlet. Once in California she quickly auditioned for a lead in a Disney feature which she won and then in 2003 her appearance in "The Utopian Society," with Sam Doumit and Austin Nichols and "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle’ in 2004 really saw her in mainstream acting roles.
She has also appeared on The Showbiz Show with David Spade as a correspondent and in the third season of HBO series Entourage in the role of Tori along with Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon.
Akerman's Californian blonde appearance and perfect figure saw her first coming to light on the HBO's comedy The Comeback in 2005, where she stole scenes from series star, and ex-Friends actress, Lisa Kudrow. 2007 has been the year when once again, Malin hit the big screen starring in The Heartbreak Kid with seasoned actor Jerry Stiller and his son Ben Stiller. Being in such demand has seen Malin lining up her acting roles as far in advance as 2009 when she will star as Laurie Juspeczyk in the big screen adaptation of Watchmen with Patrick Wilson and Billy Crudup. Along with her love of acting Milan has also developed an interest in music and is currently the lead singer of her own rock band previously known as Ozono who later changed their name to The Petalstones.
