Moon Bloodgood Bio

 Moon Bloodgood

American actress and model Moon Bloodgood is quickly making a name for herself as the new up and coming it girl. Not only is she climbing numerous “most beautiful people” lists, but she can currently be seen on her new hit show Journeyman.

Korinna Moon Bloodgood was born September 20, 1975 in Anaheim, California. Her mother is of South Korean descent, while her father is both Dutch and Irish. Before she set her sights on the glitz of Hollywood, Bloodgood put her looks and energy to use on the court as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers. She was also briefly a backup dancer for the likes of Brandi, the Offspring, and Prince.

Her first foray into the entertainment world came in 1997 when she lent her voice to the video game Nuclear Strike.

It would be another five lean years before she landed her first role. That opportunity came in 2002 with a guest appearance on Just Shoot Me opposite series regulars Laura San Giacomo, George Segal, Enrico Colantoni, Rena Sofer, and David Spade.

She also appeared on one episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2003. Portraying the stripper and witness, she acted beside William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Jorja Fox, and others.

Breaking into film as well, Bloodgood had a very minor role in the romantic comedy Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! opposite an all star cast, including Kate Bosworth, Topher Grace, Josh Duhamel, Nathan Lane, Sean Hayes, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Amy Smart. Not surprisingly, Bloodgood was cast as the “gorgeous woman.”

Staying within the romantic comedy vein, she also showed up in the Ashton Kutcher, Amanda Peet, and Taryn Manning film A Lot Like Love.

In 2006, she won a more sizable role in the little-seen romantic musical Moonlight Serenade. In the same year, she received her greatest exposure yet with a supporting role in Eight Below opposite Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, and Jason Biggs.

Outside of film, 2006 was also a success for Bloodgood because she won a leading role in the new television series Day Break with Taye Diggs, Victoria Pratt, and Adam Baldwin. The show was pulled after one season, but critics and audiences had only good things to say about the show and its actors.

Bloodgood took that momentum and earned a leading role in Pathfinder (2007) as well as a lead in the sci-fi show Journeyman. She currently plays Livia Beale to Kevin McKidd’s Dan Vasser and Gretchen Egolf’s Katie Vasser.

Gaining recognition for her acting skills as well as her looks, Bloodgood first appeared on the Maxim Hot 100 list in 2005. She squeezed in at number 99. The following year, she appeared again at a solid number 53, and she jumped yet again in 2007, sitting pretty (quite literally) at number 40.

In her personal life, Bloodgood and fellow actor Eric Balfour were engaged as of April 24, 2005.
