Nick CarterSinger and musician Nick Carter, the youngest member of the once massively popular boy band the Backstreet Boys, recently told shock jock Howard Stern that he lost his virginity to Debra Lafave when they went school together and well before her charges of illegal sex with a minor in 2005. On the September 29, 2006 show he also discussed the sexual relationship he had with Paris Hilton when the two of them dated from December 2003 to July 2004. Born as Nickolas Gene Carter on January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York, Carter had an uneventful childhood living with his parents and four full-blood siblings. For several years his parents ran a nightclub in Westfield, New York called the Yankee Rebel. Later his family moved to Tampa, Florida where his parents managed a retirement home for seniors. As a child Carter appeared in a few television commercials and in 1989 auditioned for the long-running American variety television series, The Mickey Mouse Club. In 1990 he appeared in an unbilled role in the film Edward Scissorhands starring Johnny Depp. Although Carter kept getting minor acting jobs, his first love was music. He took music and singing lesson paid for by his mother. For a while he played in a children’s band where he caught the eye of music manager Lou Pearlman. Pearlman was in the process of creating, training, and promoting a boy band called the Backstreet Boys, and decided that Carter was the perfect addition to the group, alongside Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson. Carter joined the band in 1992 as one of the main vocalists and sang the lead in parts of all except two of the band’s singles to date. As the band gained popularity, Carter started to get a reputation as being the heartthrob of the group. Love-struck girls would scream hysterically every time he performed. While his musical contribution to the band was mostly vocal, he also did the occasional drum solo while on tour. In 1999 Carter was ranked number one on the list of “Hottest Under 21” by Teen Scene magazine and “The Biggest Teen Idol” by Teen People magazine. The following year he was named as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” by People magazine. In 2002 a CosmoGirl magazine reader poll listed Carter as “The Sexist Man in the World.” Carter decided to attempt a solo singing career in 2002 with the release of his 12-song pop-rock album, Now or Never. He was the first of the Backstreet Boys to break out on his own. The album did surprisingly well reaching number 17 on the Billboard 200. It was also certified Gold. In 2004 Carter played the role of Brody in the 2004 horror flick, The Hollow starring Kevin Zegers. In 2005 Carter reunited with the Backstreet Boys and performed with the group their new album Never Gone at Wembley Arena October 20, 2005 in London, . The album was reached number three in the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. In 2006 Carter starred with his siblings in the documentary/reality show House of Carters on E! Cable network. The show, which premiered on October 2, 2006 is set to run for eight episodes. Besides Paris Hilton, Carter has dated Swedish model Izabelle Filling and pop-singer Willa Ford. In November 2005 there were rumors that he was engaged to Chinese entertainer Bai Ling. Days later Carter contacted Los Angeles talk show host Ryan Seacrest to deny this rumor and make it clear that the two are “just friends.”
