The lovely Nikki Cox is a notable television actress, having appeared and starred in many series since the early 1990s, such as Murphy Brown, Blossom, Boy Meets World, General Hospital, Baywatch, Unhappily Ever After, The Norm Show, Nikki, The Jake Effect, and Las Vegas.
Cox, who is twenty-eight, is probably most known for her most recent (and current) starring role as Mary Connell, Ed Deline’s special events director and Danny McCoy’s girlfriend, in the crime-drama-thriller series Las Vegas, a role she was offered in 2003, when the show premiered. Her co-stars on the popular show include James Caan as Ed Deline, Josh Duhamel as Danny McCoy, Vanessa Marcil as Sam Marquez, James Lesure as Mike Cannon, and Molly Sims as Delinda Deline.
However, it was recently announced that Cox will not be returning for Las Vegas’ fifth season because of budgetary constraints.
Cox was born as Nicole Avery Cox in L.A. on June 2, 1978, and has been in show business since she was four years old, when she performed as a ballet dancer in a number of productions and then began in appearing in TV specials, music videos, TV series, and a few films. In 1989 she was one of the dancers in Paula Abdul’s "Straight Up" music video.
Her stint on General Hospital lasted from 1993 to 1995, after which she snagged one of the leading roles as Tiffany Malloy on the WB’s Unhappily Ever After, from 1995 to 1999. Her co-stars included Geoff Pierson, Stephanie Hodge, Kevin Connolly, Justin Berfield, and Wendy Benson.
Although she is primarily a television actress, Cox has also appeared in a number of films, starting as an extra in 1991 with Terminator 2: Judgment Day, also starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Edward Furlong. In 1996, Cox appeared as Millie in the dramatic crime thriller The Glimmer Man, starring Steven Seagal and Keenen Ivory Wayans. She played Ms. Stamos in 2000’s Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, starring Eddie Murphy in a whole whack of roles and Janet Jackson; and she also played Kayla in Run Ronnie Run in 2002.
In her personal life, Cox has spent much of her time becoming romantically entwined with her TV co-stars. First she was dating Kevin Connolly, the actor who portrayed her brother on Unhappily, then she become temporarily engaged to older comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, who was also linked to Unhappily Ever After. Then Cox was paired with Josh Duhamel, her Las Vegas co-star and on-screen boyfriend. However, she has since dated and married Jay Mohr.
