Paul Walker A former model admired for his hot body and good looks, Paul Walker has established himself as a leading man in the movies after a slowly burning career. The good looking blonde who likes to surf was born in Glendale, California to a Mormon family in 1973. Paul got into low budget films when he quit modeling. He also briefly appeared in the popular soap The Young and the Restless featuring Lauralee Bell and Doug Davidson, in 1993. Paul’s first commercial film role was in the comedy, Meet The Deedles in 1998. Directed by Steve Boyum, it was panned by the critics and starred Steve Van Wormer and Dennis Hopper. A more successful film for Paul Walker was released in the same year, when Gary Ross directed Pleasantville. The fantasy comedy had a starry cast with Tobey Maguire, Reese Witherspoon, William H.Macy, and Jeff Daniels. Paul followed up with a romantic comedy directed by Robert Iscove, called She’s All That. Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachael Leigh Cook, and Matthew Lillard starred. The following year saw the release of a thriller set in Harvard, called The Skulls. Rob Cohen directed and Joshua Jackson and Hill Harper co-starred.
2001 was the year when Paul Walker could be called a star. He was seen in the action car race film, The Fast and the Furious. It starred action hero Vin Diesal and Michelle Rodriguez, and was directed by Rob Cohen. John Singleton made the sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Paul was joined by Tyrese Gibson and Eva Mendes. Tyrese is still one of Paul’s closest friends. Paul Walker continues to be busy, having reportedly turned down the chance to play the new Superman. He wants to do different types of role and was worried about being pigeon holed. Walker plays a cop in Noel, a drama directed by Chazz Palminteri and released in 2004. Paul’s co-stars were an impressive line up that included Penelope Cruz, Alan Arkin, and Susan Sarandon. This was followed by Into the Blue, a tense adventure story featuring lots of sharks, and Paul playing a diver searching for treasure. John Stockwell directed and other parts are played by Jessica Alba, Scott Caan, and Ashley Scott. Flags Of Our Fathers is the latest release from Paul Walker. It’s a war story directed by Clint Eastwood and features Patrick Dollaghan and Jon Kellam. The media naturally takes a lot of interest in the love life of Paul Walker, but he usually manages to keep his girlfriends a discreet mystery. He has a daughter from a former girlfriend. He is quite open about actresses he admires however, and once revealed to Carson Daly from MTV that he was thrilled to be seated next to Jennifer Garner and Kate Bosworth at the MTV Movie Awards. |
