It was when Penny Lancaster was studying photography that she met veteran rocker, Rod Stewart. Their relationship caused a feeding frenzy in the tabloid press. She was the face of Ultimo Lingerie and Rod was in the middle of his separation from his current wife and model, Rachel Hunter. Penny and Rachel fought a public war in the papers. Then the owner of Ultimo Lingerie, Michelle Monet, bizarrely fired Penny and replaced her with Rachel. Penny responded by calling a truce. She had her own career opportunities, as she promoted her fitness workout DVDs. These were well received due to her fitness background.

Press interest into the romance continued, repeating the publicity surrounding Rod’s previous high profile relationships with Alana Hamilton, Britt Eckland, and Kelly Emberg. Penny and Rod were obviously smitten and talked about their romance on the Larry King Show. Penny Lancaster gave birth to a son in 2005, with Rod in attendance in the birthing pool. It was her first child and Rod’s seventh. Rod proposed marriage at the top of the Eiffel Tower and they plan to marry in 2007. Family members and close friends such as Elton John and Ronnie Wood will attend. They were due to marry in 2005 but the arrival of baby Alastair postponed the arrangements.

Penny Lancaster is in great demand as a guest on various UK television shows. She appeared in The F Word, hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey. The format is that Ramsey, famous for his outbursts of temper and swearing, tries to teach a bunch of amateur cooks how to work in the kitchen. The results are then tasted by celebrity guests. These have included actresses Joan Collins and Kathy Burke, and presenter Jonathan Ross.

Penny has also been a guest on surreal comedy show, Bo’ Selecta. A leading washing powder manufacturer that is funding a campaign to get British children into tennis, hired Penny to help promote the project alongside tennis player Tim Henman.
