Perrey Reeves Bio

Perrey Reeves

American actress of film and television Perrey Reeves was born in New York City and subsequently raised in New Hampshire. Growing up, both her parents were extremely academic and did not allow television in the household. Reeves, therefore, spent her childhood completely immersed in literature, theater, art, museums, and other cultural events.

With so much emphasis placed on education by her parents, Reeves spent several years abroad in both France and Italy pursuing her studies. She also attended Ivy League colleges in the United States. Within the varied areas of her study, drama always held a draw for Reeves. She easily made up her mind that she wanted to be an actress.

To that end, she made her onscreen debut in 1989 with Mothers, Daughters and Lovers. In the same year, she had a small part in The Preppie Murder starring Danny Aiello, William Baldwin, and Lara Flynn Boyle.

She made several brief appearances on television shows and another supporting role in the 1991 film Plymouth, but it was Child’s Play 3 that earned her that first commercial role with substantial screen time. The film also starred Justin Whalin and Brad Dourif providing the distinctive voice to everyone’s favorite psychopathic doll, Chucky.

Reeves kept her head above water by earning several small but recurring roles on various television shows and more bit parts in films. The most acclaimed of these was Kicking and Screaming in 1995. The Noah Baumbach directed film starred indie staples Eric Stoltz and Parker Posey as well as Josh Hamilton, Samuel Gould, Olivia d Abo, and Jason Wiles.

Her first major break into the mainstream came in 2003 with the college comedy Old School. She starred opposite A list funny men Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, and Vince Vaughn. Supporting cast included Ellen Pompeo, Juliette Lewis, Leah Remini, and Elisha Cuthbert.

Increasing her visibility, she also appeared for nine episodes on the Rob Lowe series The Lyon’s Den. She dabbled in more film and television projects before landing the job that would truly turn her career around.

In 2004, she was cast as Mrs Ari in the highly acclaimed HBO series Entourage with stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven, and Jerry Ferrara. Validating all her hard work, she earned a 2007 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

She is currently in various stages of completing two films. The first is entitled Bay of Pigs and is rumored to star Gretchen Mol and Noah Wyle. The second is the drama Vicious Circle.

In her personal life, she was romantically involved with David Duchovny from 1993 to 1995. She is currently with her partner Jeff Gossett.

She is a strong believer and dedicated adherent to yoga, and she is also a vegetarian.

She dedicates her personal time to volunteering at the charity group International Fund for Animal Welfare.
