Roselyn Sanchez

Roselyn Sanchez is a thirty-something, breathtakingly beautiful Puerto Rican television and film actress, model, dancer, and singer. She is most known professionally as a model and actress.

Sanchez was born on April 2, 1973, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and began taking classes in acting, dancing, and singing when her she moved to New York City in 1991. However, she returned to San Juan the following year to attend the University of Puerto Rico and also landed her debut, albeit minor, film role in Captain Ron, starring Kurt Russell and Martin Short.

After Captain Ron, Sanchez left university to focus on a career in the entertainment industry, and accumulated much success as a model—in 1993 she won the Miss Puerto Rico Petite title and the following year, Miss America Petite. She was also a renowned dancer in Puerto Rico as well as co-host of Que Vacilon, the country’s top variety show.

After deciding to move back to New York, Sanchez was offered a recurring role as Pilar Domingo on the hit soap opera As The World Turns, for the 1996 to 1997 season. Her next big role came in 2001 with Rush Hour 2, in which she played the love interest of star Jackie Chan’s character. Chris Tucker co-starred in the movie. The following year Sanchez guest starred in an episode of The Drew Carey Show, which starred Drew Carey, and two years later she starred alongside actress Sofia Vergara and contemporary Christian songstress Jaci Velasquez in Chasing Papi.

Since then, Sanchez has appeared in the films Underclassman and Edison, and then landed a regular role on the crime drama Without a Trace in 2005 as Agent Elena Delgado, a role which she continues to play today. She co-stars with Anthony LaPaglia, Poppy Montgomery, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Enrique Murciano, and Eric Close.

Also in 2005, Sanchez released her debut musical album, Borinquerĩa. Her single “Amor Amor Amor” garnered her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Music Video.

Sanchez is set to reprise her role as Isabella Molina in the third installment of Rush Hour, slated for release later this year. She also took the role of Kristen in Venus & Vegas, a 2007 crime-comedy film, alongside Eddie Kaye Thomas, Donald Faison, Eddie Guerra, Jaime Pressly, Abraham Benrubi, and Molly Sims. Her latest project is a musical composition she is writing about a young aspiring actress and singer who moves from Puerto Rico to New York City to "make it big"—which is similar to her own life, and in which Sanchez plans to star.

Sanchez is currently dating actor Eric Winter, but was previously married to actor Gary Stretch and involved with salsa singer Victor Manuelle.
